The Academy for Canine Behavior and Training (formerly Taming the Wild)

I had a wonderful experience with The Academy for Canine Behavior and Training. My dog attended a 3-week board and training program. I decided I was comfortable with this after taking my dog to daycare at this location and being extremely impressed with the setup and cleanliness of the facility; this is the cleanest animal facility I have personally experienced. I was told at the beginning of the program that I would receive daily updates on my dog via texts, videos, and pictures. They did not miss a single day. I was very impressed with this given that they trained her on Saturdays as well. I was so grateful and impressed by the overall professionalism of this business. They say something will be done, and it is done. I value that very much, especially given that I was trusting them with something that means a great deal to me. Via the videos, I saw my dog make progressions I was surprised and thrilled by within 3 days of being in her program. By the end of the program, she was not only performing extremely well, but I could see that she was actually enjoying the process and had become very affectionate towards her trainer. Her behavior indicated to me that she was treated extremely well and had a positive experience during her time in the program. I am posting this the day of my turnover lesson. After seeing my dog's bahavior after going through the program, I am confident that my dog received extremely effective training from this program. I realize now that maintaining this training is up to me, so I don't feel a need to wait any longer before writing this review. I had a fantastic experience here, and my pup did as well. I am looking forward to giving my dog the most enriched life that I possibly can now that I have the training tools to do so safely, and I couldn't be more happy and excited. Thank you, TACBT!

TACBT absolutely exceeded my expectations during our training experience. I cannot emphasize how exceptional their philosophy is! My 16 week old was enrolled in the board and train program and the reliability of the foundation that the TACBT staff created was beyond anything I could have hoped for. Not only does he know and "follow commands" as most training programs promise, but he actually understands the behaviors he has learned and is able to apply them to different circumstances, enjoys the time we spend in session, and is thriving on the structure and challenge! This education is so much more than "obedience training." Bryan and the TACBT staff have set us on our way to having a true family companion - a dog that we can enjoy in our home and take anywhere. I cannot thank TACBT enough and look forward to our future with their program!!

Bringing a new puppy home to a timid and grumpy senior dog turned out to be more than we had bargained for. For three months, our lives consisted of baby gates, and our dogs living completely separate lives. When we would allow them together time, the pup would always be too much for our old guy. Out of desperation one day, I decided to Google “dog training in my area”. I came across TACBT, read their reviews, checked out their Facebook and website, and decided to book a tour of their facility. After meeting with Nick, the head trainer, I knew this was the place that could provide something my husband and I couldn’t. We dropped Teddy off a few days later to begin his program. Throughout his two week stay, we received daily picture and video updates via text. We were honestly taken aback at the first video we received, he was actually walking calmly and politely on a leash!! And this was only the beginning of his progress. Two weeks later, we brought home a new and improved pup. No more biting, jumping, or harassing our senior dog. The baby gates are gone and our boys now live together in mostly harmony, which is something I believed impossible just a few short weeks ago. Teddy is still a pup, with puppy energy, but we have control over the energy now, and that has made our lives peaceful once again. “Puppy blues” are a real thing, the folks at TACBT with their patience, knowledge, and experience have helped me to enjoy our new puppy, and not just “survive” him. We cannot thank them enough!!
