What ages of dogs can you train at The Academy for Canine Behavior and Training?
We train dogs at any age, from young puppies to senior dogs. Private lessons are open to dogs of all ages, and we tailor each program to your dog’s age, breed, and individual behavior needs.
For our Board & Train program, dogs must be at least 4 months old. Beyond that, there is no dog too old for training — we work with adolescent, adult, and senior dogs every day.
If your dog needs early socialization, obedience, or a full behavior reset, we’ll help you choose the right program for their stage of life.

Our Board & Train programs start at $1,820 for basic training.
Pricing increases based on the level of training you choose. We also create custom programs when a dog requires additional time or specialized behavioral work.
We offer three core options:
Basic - 14-day program
Enhanced - 21-day program
Advanced - 28-day program
Every Board & Train includes:
Daily one-on-one training
Safe, structured boarding
On-leash and off-leash obedience depending on the program you choose
Behavior work for reactivity, fear, or aggression (if needed)
Owner training before going home
Free lifetime refresher classes every 1st and 3rd Saturday

Yes, we welcome puppies 4 months and older into our daycare program as long as they are appropriately vaccinated.
At this age, puppies are developmentally ready for structured socialization, clear boundaries, and calm play around other dogs. Our trained staff ensures a safe, supervised environment so young dogs build confidence and good habits from the start.

Nick did an awesome job keeping us updated with photos & videos through the entire process. Also, a huge bonus they offer lifetime refresher courses for any dog they train. A special thank you to Nick, who was an outstanding trainer throughout the program. His knowledge, patience, and ability to work with dogs really showed from day one. He took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure both my dog and I were set up for success.

TACBT is an outstanding canine training facility. Madi was our primary trainer. She did an amazing job with Pepper’s training and keeping us updated. We brought them a big high energy puppy that would not listen and was out of control. They gave us back a dog that now listens. Bryan also took part in her training. I was so impressed with his instructions to us explaining the reason why in our video updates. My husband was totally against this training but now he is an advocate of TACBT. We highly recommend TACBT to others!

My partner and I sent our two doodles to the enhanced training program. Our doodles came back a lot less doodle-y and a lot better with commands and listening. Mr Brian and Mr Nick were exceptional to work with. They know their stuff. Super nice, friendly, and cared for our dogs just like we do! It’s been a pleasure!
