FirstBarkLiz is an amazing trainer and the only one we would trust to take care of Bentley. Bentley learned so much and responds well to all the commands he was taught. Truly impressed with his behavior before and after training. Can’t say enough good things!

About Texas K-9 Academy
Texas K-9 Academy provides board-and-train programs for dogs and their families across the Dallas–Fort Worth Metroplex. Established in 2016 and based in Little Elm, we help owners build everyday skills with their dogs, including leash manners, polite greetings, coming when called, and obedience around distractions. Our programs include foundational obedience and advanced on- and off-leash training, with owner instruction and follow-up support to help carry training into life at home. I had 2 labs trained. Liz at Texas K-9 Academy taught me the skills to reinforce the training. It is so nice to be able to walk both dogs at once as they stay right by my side! They listen to commands and actually seem happy with the structure! I have taken my dogs in public and always get compliments on how well behaved they are. The training they received was based on positive reinforcement, which was huge for me - vs some trainers who break their spirit. Highly recommend Liz and Texas K-9 Academy!

Liz did a wonderful job with Peaches. Peaches was a singleton with limited socialization when we took her to Texas K-9 Academy. Peaches is a much more content pup with lots of confidence and spunk. She is calm at heel on the lead, sits, down, places, and comes to call consistently and happily. No whining in her kennel, calms easily for down time and is a joy to have inside. I couldn’t be more pleased with the results. This the obedience foundation I needed to start her gun dog training. It was worth every nickel.

Liz did an amazing job with our highly-energetic (and destructive) cattle dog. He is now a pleasure to walk, take into the pet store, and just generally be around. She is also realistic and taught ME how to handle his ongoing training and reinforcing what he knew. There is no quick-fix for a perfect pet, but this was as close as I think you could possibly get. Now, we are all confident in our ability to help him be a happy and positive member of our family. And it's thanks to the foundation that Texas K-9 Academy gave us!

Our Story Murphy the seven month old chocolate Lab went to TexasK-9 Academy as a “ding-bat” and came back a much improved dog! He chose the two week obedience course, which in my opinion was just what he needed. Liz and the K-9 team took great care of Murphy. Occasionally throughout his training Liz posted videos of his progress. When Liz returned Murphy to us at our home we went through the training Murphy received so that all of us were on the same page! Liz had us go for a walk with Murphy and now I was in charge of the pace! And in charge of Murphy.
