Team SamIvy

Our dog is named Novo, he's an all black Labradoodle. He's now a big 1 year old. However my partner and I adopted him from a shelter when he was 4 months old. I had just lost my 16 year old dog that I grew up with, a few years ago and I missed having a companion. My partner and I had never adopted a puppy before, but we knew it was going to be a bit of challenge, both for Novo and for us, being that he was a rescue. We tried training him on our own with our knowledge and then eventually had an in person trainer we would meet at the park for training sessions. Even though that trainer was great, Novo needed more guidance, due his breed and due to a lot of behavioral issues, beyond her training. Some issues he struggled with was when it came to walks, being around other people and not listening to us and A LOT of biting and snapping and separation anxiety. We found SamIvy just by chance, researching different training platforms. At first we weren't really sure how the virtual training would work or stick with Novo. But after hearing the consultant and our trainer out, the process and approach they use, definitely works. It makes more sense for us (owners) to be more hands on with them and have them take orders from us, then for them taking orders from a trainer and then later have it go out the window when the trainer is no longer present.Which what was happening to us, as soon as we left our previous trainer, Novo would act like he learned nothing. Big shout out to our SamIvy trainer Alysia, she was the sweetest not only to us but Novo, and really gave us a lot of reassurance that it would take time but it would get better, with a lot of Novo's issues. Even after our first session it was like night and day for Novo, and we were honestly so shocked and happy. Throughout the remaining sessions there were some up and downs but in the end, we knew Novo was progressing.Alysia definitely has a lot of knowledge and gave us a lot of tools and resources, advice and support during our sessions and even made her self reachable after session hours and always checked up on us like a friend. Working with her, definitely put us at ease and made us feel reassured that Novo would get there. We definitely feel more supported and confident when working with Novo and handling addressing situations with Novo now, because of her help! We look forward to working with her again if we can :)

We cannot say enough good things about our experience with Sam Ivy and our trainer Alysia. Our fur baby was amazing with our new baby until she turned one and started walking. She displayed signs of aggression which is why we reached out to Sam Ivy immediately in hopes of getting support and intervention before escalation. We were a little reluctant with the virtual training, however, we saw rave reviews of families that had addressed the very same issue we were seeking support for. After completing our 6 sessions and following everything we learned inside and outside of the class we couldn't be happier with the results and our fur babe being completely transformed. It's hard to believe that in just 6 sessions we were able to completely reform our fur babes behavior and we got through our biggest nightmare as new parents—our fur babe not getting along with our human baby. We will definitely be back for other courses with Sam Ivy in the future and couldn't recommend it more!
