Team SamIvy

Team Samlvy was the best dog training experience we have ever had. Our trainer was Allie Sherman. Allie is very experienced and knowledgeable about dogs. She used to work as a vet technician and horse trainer which adds to her knowledge. We have two dogs, Hannah and Holly. Hannah was in most need of training. She is highly excitable and high energy. She also could be aggressive at times toward other dogs. Throughout the training Hannah learned to calm her emotions. Her anxieties settled down, she stopped pulling on the leash and barking when another dog appeared. Today with a "Leave it" command, Hannah just looks at a dog and keeps walking, no pulling, no anxiety. Also she is better behaved at home, she will stay in place and go to her crate with a simple command. This course with Allie also helped Holly improve in areas of need. If your dog displays anxiety and is difficult to control, this is the training course for you. Hannah the black dog, Holly the brown dog.

I have a very stubborn and strong 2 year old Great Pyrenees, Peach. Around 8 months, she started to show signs of aggression towards some dogs (mostly larger dogs), food aggression, and guarding all doors and windows in my house. She was always good on walks, but when a dog came near what she established as her territory, she would lose her mind. After a slow introduction to my girlfriends dog, and a few unfortunate instances of my dog attacking hers, we decided we needed extra support. She went to a four week training program this February, and came home with a good foundation, but a lot of the aggression issues were still present. I came to the conclusion this was just her breed and her instincts kicking in and there was nothing else we could do. Desperately, I was researching how I could help my dog, and our situation. That's when I saw Sam Ivy. I was leery at first, since it was all virtual and I really felt like I would need an in-person expert with Peach. After my consultation, I immediately felt there was hope after all! I was not only confident they could help, but really started to understand that the virtual sessions were best for us, since it puts YOU in charge. I started to see change almost immediately with the help of our trainer, Nate. Nate was very educated when it came to Peach's breed. After 6 sessions, I've seen a significant difference in her behavior. She seems more confident and less stressed, understanding boundaries and expectations. She needed a bit more structure, and I will always be grateful for taking a chance with Sam Ivy. I have the tools we need to make sure that Peach is happy and so is everyone in our home!

Jennifer Kearns was my instructor at Team Sam Ivy. She is awesome. I have an Australian Shepherd who just turned 2. She did know all the basics and I am not a novice dealing with dogs but she was going into a rebellious stage and she was losing focus. She wanted to do her own thing and was not coming when called. They gave me guidance on trying different ways to handle Bindi and I am very pleased how we progressed. I have been able to stop her in mid run when she was chasing a squirrel. Bindi and I compete in agility and I needed more focus and obedience. I think we even bonded more over this whole process. Jennifer consulted with Sam on some of Bindi's issues and they came up with ideas for me to work on. I am very happy how we progressed. I would highly recommend Team SamIvy!
