This is not a Rescue Agency. The dogs here are specifically bred and trained to be service dogs

The cost depends on if you have a dog you want them to train. They train service dogs, meaning you would be able to take the dog in public. In my opinion a service dog can help in therapy but not a replacement for therapy. If you need more information you should contact SSD so all your questions can be answered by the organization. Beautiful facility. In the application process. Will update later. Update. Had an extensive review of my reasons for needing a service dog. This application is very intense and thorough. The staph is easy to contact and is readily helpful throughout the process. They are kind and courteous. The written application takes a few months for them to respond as the demand is great and the resources are limited. Received and email for an interview. Got to meet one on one with five members of the interview group and a famous beautiful yellow lab named “Captain”. Everyone was kind warm and pleasant. The training facility is beautiful. Located north of Palmyra, PA. Fortunately I live within driving distance of this beautiful place. The interview was fun! We all had a great conversation about many topics. What I expected from a service dog. What was my typical day routine. And most importantly Captain was very well trained. He was very loving and happy to see me. I felt like we had been the best of friends forever in just a few short minutes. At the end of the interview Captain was glad to demonstrate how he could retrieve a cell phone off of the floor. He also demonstrated how he could open heavy metal doors so I could pass. I’m eager to learn how much more he can do! Today I received an email to meet with a teem to see how I respond to a service dog in public. This is scheduled for May. I’m excited. The teem wants me to have at least one support person with me. I am anxiously awaiting. I love dogs. I have always had dogs in my life. Few things in life make you happier.
