First off, BEFORE you get a puppy, go to this site and download (and read!) the FREE guides by Dr. Ian Dunbar. Super helpful tips. Note, we did not do that and ended up scheduling a training session when our puppy was almost 4 months old and had already developed a handful of bad habits and wasn't house-broken. We had one virtual session, which was super helpful to get us on the right track with retraining our puppy. It's been about a month now and he's really coming along. Ty's tips are useful, practical, and easy to implement. We also have two kids (< 10 years old) so the challenge is partly in teaching them how to interact with the puppy. So far so good. I would recommend at least 1 session with Sura Dog Training before or as soon after you bring your puppy home to get your started on the right track! Thanks, Ty!
Ty was great with our dog, and in the few days since working with him we've been applying the techniques Ty taught us and seeing (slow, steady) improvement.
He just doesn't show you the technique but explains the reason of why a puppy nips or bites. When you have a better understanding, then the technique makes sense! Thank you. Still have a lot of work to do but its good to know the reason behind. I love the hand feeding too!
Ty offered me and my puppy some very useful tips on potty training, feeding and crate training. There's so much contradicting advice out there that I was getting confused and so was my puppy! Ty really helped get me back on track. I feel so much better. His calm demeanor and confidence in me was very reassuring. I will be contacting him again if I have any other questions. He's awesome!
