Strategic K-9 Training

I came in contact with strategic K9 after searching far and wide for someone to personally help with some resource guarding and barking habits that I wanted to break with my dog. Joe and Ami have helped immensely and my dog is making so much progress. Not only have they helped my dog, but my families dogs as well. I am becoming more confident with every session we have and Rex is a super star. Thank you SO much for your continued help.

Working with Joe and his team has been an incredible experience. I was extremely skeptical that any trainer could help my dogs (yes, plural!) with incessant barking, jumping, counter surfing, and some agitation around children. Joe and his team clearly love what they do—they’re responsive, friendly, and communicative. During the third session, Joe brought two other trainers and their dogs to help test our dogs’ reactions and help further develop their confidence around other dogs. And, he was kind (and patient) enough to involve my kids in the training process too. We still have many lessons to do, and the process requires consistency from the owner when Joe and his team aren’t around. The process will only work if I reinforce the behavior after they’ve left. So far, it’s been a rewarding experience resulting in calmer, more focused, less skittish, more lovable dogs.

Thank you Joe and Amy, you guys are truly the best out there! My boyfriend and I are so lucky to have found the two of you and can’t thank you enough for not only training our dogs, but for training us so that we can be the best for them! Joe was able to correct bad habits and behaviors that had been going on since they were pups in a matter of 4 lessons. Our friends, family, and neighbors can’t believe how well trained and different our dogs are behaving now. Joe is old school and straight to the point, which there are not trainers out there like him. If you follow Joe’s directions and do your homework you will without a doubt be successful too. Joe and Amy treat you like family and put the dog first. Look no further because Joe and Amy are the only ones for you! We found the training we were looking for! When we decided to get a German Shepherd we knew that training was going to be paramount and wanted to make sure our dog would be obedient. We tried the group classes and treat based training first but it quickly became apparent that this was not going to get us where we wanted to be. Rohan was still lunging at other people and dogs and pulling on the leash and it felt like we had no control over him. After training with Joe he’s walking properly on the leash and is completely calm around other people and dogs. He’s perfectly behaved and people are asking us how we did it! I can’t recommend Joe highly enough!
