Steady On Point

This is my second dog that was trained by Alan at Steady on Point with terrific results. When we got our 1yr English Setter, he hadn't been well socialized and Alan adjusted his program to first build trust and confidence in the pup before moving on to hunting training. You can tell Alan loves dogs by the way he treats them and the way they respond to his training. I highly recommend Alan if you're looking for a someone to help develop a great hunting companion and pet.

We couldn't be happier with the six weeks our dog spent with Alan with Steady On Point training. The program combined both obedience and hunting training, and the results exceeded our expectations. Our dog Saffron came home with a solid foundation in obedience, responding reliably to commands and behaving much better both at home and in the field. The hunting training was equally impressive. It was clear that a lot of time, patience, and expertise went into developing our dog's natural abilities while building confidence and consistency. While also Alan worked on making sure that our dog found it fun. When we arrived for the final day and training session we could see the excitement that our dog had and well as the outstanding obedience and listening and response. As anyone might feel when sending their dog being nervous but Alan really alleviated that feeling. Throughout the process, Alan was professional, knowledgeable, and clearly passionate about working with dogs. He was also extremely knowledgable about training English Setters which are a very sensitive dog. We appreciated the communication and could tell our dog was well cared for during the entire stay. Alan provided photos and updates consistently throughout the training and I loved our mid-training meeting as well to be able to see how Saffron was doing and even then we noticed immediate changes. If you're looking for a trainer who can successfully develop both a well-mannered companion and not only a capable hunting dog but also a hunting dog who finds the activity fun and gets excited, we highly recommend Steady On Point. The investment was absolutely worth it, and we're excited to continue building on everything our dog learned. Even after leaving the program Alan still continues to check in on Saffron and you can truly see that with Alan is passionate and cares about each one of his clients. If you have an English Setter or any other hunting breed, We would HIGHLY recommend not to pass on Steady on Point and you need to sign up with Alan.

I couldn’t be happier with the results from Alan. My young hunter went from an energetic, unfocused pup to a steady, reliable hunting partner in just a few weeks. What really stood out was the excellent communication, I received regular picture and video updates showing my dog’s daily progress, new skills, and fun moments in the field. I would highly recommend. It was important to me to be comfortable with who I am going to leave my dog with. From the start I could tell Alan really loves dogs. He uses a positive reinforcement method and really understands what motivates dogs. Getting updates of progress and videos regularly was something that I really liked.
