David and Lex are phenomenal ! We had a frenchie with severe behavioral issues. We opted for the 8 week board and train. The overall turnaround with our frenchies behavior was shocking . He went from a reactive frightened dog that was pretty much unbearable to deal with . Into a well tempered boy . Any dog we have in the future we are taking to David at star dog obedience . From the home calls to going to the facility David and Lex were always there to get us through a problem . Can’t say it enough a phenomenal group of people that really care about the dogs and their owners.

I cannot say enough amazing things about Star Dog Obedience and the entire team there. From start to finish, this experience completely changed our home for the better. We brought our rescue dog Athena to them with some real challenges behavioral issues, listening struggles, and some aggression that made daily life stressful and honestly a bit overwhelming. We decided to commit to the 4-week board and train program along with group lessons, and it was the best decision we could have made. First, I have to highlight Melody, the owner. Her knowledge, professionalism, and genuine care for both dogs and their families is unmatched. You can tell this is not just a business to her it is something she is deeply passionate about. Lex and David, the trainers, were absolutely incredible. They took the time to truly understand Athena, not just train her. They communicated with us throughout the process, explained the “why” behind everything, and made sure we felt confident continuing the training at home. Their patience and skill made all the difference. The transformation in Athena has been nothing short of amazing. She now understands boundaries, listens, and knows what is expected of her. The structure they provided gave her confidence, and in turn, gave us peace of mind. Our home is now calm, safe, and happy for everyone. What really sets them apart is that they don’t just train your dog they train YOU too. The group lessons were so helpful in reinforcing everything and making sure the results stick long-term. Stardog was recommended to me by my vet after my 10 month old puppy had weeks of traumatic experiences following a surgery (done by another vet) and began showing behavioral issues. He was super uneasy around people, would growl if anyone got near him, and was extremely nervous about getting a collar/leash put on. I became very nervous about bringing him in public, around new people, and having visitors in our home. Following our training, he is much more comfortable around people with less growling, no issues about his collar or leash, and his way closer to being back to how he was pre surgery. In addition to working on his behavior, he is now okay with nail trims, has much better recall, knows how to walk on a leash, and overall has much better manners. He is less nippy when taking treats, doesn’t jump, and lets me put a muzzle on him no problem. I could not recommend Stardog more. My dog and I were treated with kindness, respect, compassion, and professionalism. What I appreciated the most was that my dog was treated as an individual. Every sort of training we had was made for HIM. If he was having a bad day, we did training he would succeed at. If he was eager to learn that day, we did more complex training. His boundaries were very respected and he was never put in a situation that would make him fail or where he would regress. I am moving states and therefore cannot continue with Stardog on advancing his training, but I am going to make an effort to come back each year for him to receive more training. When I started training with my dog, i was nervous about handling my dog and even more nervous about him being around other people. Now, I bring him to markets, out to eat, and around others with the confidence to handle different situations we might encounter.
