We can’t say enough amazing things about our experience with Stand Proud Dog Training! Our dog Kona went in for resource guarding and obedience training, and the transformation has been incredible. From the very beginning, Brandon was kind, professional, and clearly knowledgeable about dog behavior. They took the time to understand Kona’s specific needs and tailored the training to help him become more confident, responsive, and well-behaved. Not only did they address the resource guarding with incredible success, but Kona also came back with vastly improved obedience skills. The progress Kona made was beyond what we had hoped for, and we’re so grateful to have had someone so skilled and caring guiding him (and us) through this journey. We now feel more confident as dog owners and know we have the tools we need to continue reinforcing everything he learned. Thank you so much for helping our sweet boy thrive!

We had a doodle with extremely severe anxiety and very destructive behavior. I couldn’t walk him without my arm hurting. He ripped the couches up. Jumped on everyone when they came over. Stole food. He was unmanageable. After a month staying with Stand Proud Dog Training, he is a model dog. After only two follow up appointments with Abby our dog is able to walk in a heel off leash on a hike. He no longer chews furniture and has a sense of calm and happiness instead of anxiety. I can’t thank our personal trainer Abby enough for teaching our doodle self confidence and skills to have more freedom. This program gives you the tools to fully change your dog’s life. His quality of life is better and he is happier. 10/10 would recommend this program, Danielle is awesome and always goes above and beyond to make sure our schedule is accommodated and needs are met. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I cannot say enough good things about Stand Proud and the incredible dog training program they offer! When my dog Bella returned home after her training, the difference was remarkable. We were finally able to establish clear boundaries with her, which made a world of difference in our day-to-day lives. One of the most impressive changes was her ability to walk on a leash without pulling or showing aggression towards other dogs. Walking her was a nightmare, especially when dogs would bark from the other side of the fence. The aggression she showed was not okay. I’m beyond grateful for the change she had made. It was truly amazing to experience those peaceful walks together! Additionally, when Bella first went into the program, she was definitely overweight. Upon her return, she looked fantastic and was much healthier. The team at Stand Proud is not only knowledgeable but also genuinely cares about the dogs they work with. We have been bringing our pup, Venus, to Stand Proud for about 10 months now (classes, dog daycare and even overnight boarding) and have experienced nothing but great service with their knowledgeable, caring and friendly staff. Kennel attendants and trainers get to know you & your dog and provide excellent care and attention. Debbie and Danielle always respond to emails and texts as soon as they're able to. We know Venus is always in good hands and feel comfortable leaving her in their care.

Recently our 4 year dog (Emma) began to resource guard her toys from our 10 month old pup (Buttercup) and aggressively disciplined Buttercup. We did not understand what was happening, we thought Emma was attacking Buttercup, later after speaking with Brandon, Ian and Abbey (all trainers) we began to realize the dynamics taking place. The problem started during a 2 week time period during Christmas of having multiple people and dogs in our home including a male dog that chose to mark our furniture and walls inside and out. Emma was pretty much fed up with the behavior of other dogs taking her toys, marking the house and stealing our attention. Emma had been looking for us to be the disciplinarians but that never happened. Prior to contacting the Stand Proud Dog Training, I called 16 different shelters, rescues, and Northern Nevada Humane Society, none of which would take Emma based on possible aggression, being full, us living out of county and 5 of the 16 places that I had left messages with never returned our calls. We honestly believed we needed to get rid of Emma, we were crying and walking on eggshells in our own home. I began searching the area for possible dog trainers none of which were taking on new clients. We expanded the search to include the Reno area. Magically “Stand Proud Dog Training” appeared (thank you google). I sent an email to Stand Proud immediately explaining the situation, praying they would respond. Danielle (one of the owners) responded within 30 minutes (this was 7pm) I was amazed and thankful of the quick response. We spoke the following day on the phone and scheduled a meet and greet with Brandon (Daniel’s husband and owner of Stand Proud). The meet and greet went amazingly well, you could tell Brandon knew what he was doing by the way he spoke and he was able to give us some insight on our situation. He watched how our 2 dogs interacted with us and each other and Brandon agreed to accept our dogs into their program, he strongly recommended Buttercup get some basic 3 week training while Emma would best benefit from the 4 week minor aggression training. Brandon explained his methods of training which we agreed to and we believed would hopefully work, we understood aggression cannot completely and magically disappear but we could learn about what triggers Emma and how to try to keep these events from happening. We also knew and realized part of Emma’s and Buttercup’s behavior was our fault. We had given them free reign to do pretty much what ever they wanted to do (barking at the tv, zoomies in the house, treating our furniture and house like a steeple chase/parkour event), we needed training also. Emma’s way of discipline was a bit strong, she never physically hurt Buttercup, Brandon explained if she really wanted to she could have hurt Buttercup but did not. Brandon, Ian and Abbey did a great job training our dogs, providing them with a foundation that we are continuously working with. No more pulling on walks, no barking at the tv, sit and stay are going pretty good, come is going well and so is place. Once again the trainers have built the foundation for us and provided us with the tools and knowledge to live comfortably in our home with our 2 wonderful dogs. We continue to work with Emma and Buttercup we can see the difference from where we started and Emma and Buttercup are thriving (we are still a bit cautious about toys but we believe one of these days toys will coexist in our home). We ourselves could not be firm with our dogs when it came to training (big pushovers), Stand Proud did what we did not do and they did a fantastic job. We have taken our dogs back to be boarded at Stand Proud and they are so excited to see the trainers. Thank you Danielle for responding to our email.
