Sparks K9 Services

A long overdue review! In my opinion and experience, Sparks K9 is the best dog trainer in the area! I started working with them when I got my new German Shepherd puppy, who is now a year and a half old. I also have an older German Shepherd, who is now 7 years old, that I have taken to multiple other trainers/classes in the area. Despite my efforts there, she still became reactive (the usual barking/lunging) and continued to be reactive even when trying to work on the issue itself. Working with other trainers didn’t solve the problem. I was really impressed with how my puppy was coming along through taking the puppy and beginner novice obedience class and learned a TON that I never learned from other trainers, so I finally decided to take my older dog to Sparks to see if we could nip the reactivity. Before that I was pretty much at the point of giving up on her issues. After going through the Novice Obedience class with her, we no longer have reactivity issues! I have had a lot of people comment on how well-behaved she is! My vet office even said she is one of the most well-behaved Shepherds they have ever seen! Sparks is well worth it and focuses on the big picture and how you live with your dog and not just specific pieces. If you are truly committed to working with your dog, because there is a lot of homework, then this is definitely where it’s at! John and Kim are very responsive and helpful outside of the classes and have a lot of resources and videos, which is not something I’ve encountered with anyone else. I’d give 100 stars if I could!

We recently went through puppy class with Sparks, signed straight up for the next set of classes. We did extensive research and education on dog training before getting one; books, forums, YouTube videos etc... The knowledge and content that John has is second to none. It's been great fun working through the content and we've learned so much already. Looking forward to all the future classes to come!
