We sent our 2 year old female Doberman Freya to Jared for a board and train program and it was life changing for both my Husband & I and Freya! Freya was a little fear reactive and a nervous girl, with leash pulling issues. I was starting to get nervous anytime I needed to walk her because I never knew what would happen! It was really effecting both of us. I never thought I’d be able to send Freya away for four weeks because she’s my baby! But I’m SO glad I did! The improvements she made were really unbelievable. The biggest thing is she came back with so much confidence. She can now play with other dogs in a better way, walk by loud noises and not think we are all going to die, and will walk calmly right next to me. I know if we are on a walk and come across something, I can get her attention and calm her down. Jared really enabled her to have a better life by being more calm and confident with herself and we are forever thankful!! It is so worth the money and time, especially with the training sessions afterwards that really show you how to maintain the behavior. It’s been months and Freya gets so excited to put on her collar and do little training drills in our backyard!

My dog is overly aware of her surroundings and kept barking at other dogs out in public (this was a new habit that started out of nowhere). Jared and his team worked with Rylee to calm her mind and I have seen a huge difference in her behavior. We are now able to take her out in public without worrying about how she will react. Jared and his team are extremely knowledgeable and you can tell they really care about giving your dog the best training. I can’t thank them enough and will continue to use them for boarding and training!

My dog Boogie was a HUGE (119 pound) menace both in our house and in public. When I called Southern State K-9 Training I truly was at the end of my rope and was worried Boogie would never get better because he has had previous training and it was basically ineffective. They not only came to my house for the initial visit with Boogie, but they put me at ease about the process and reassured me that Boogie is in the best hands possible for his board and train. The thing that made me value their training over others was the in home component where Boogie would be allowed into the home to practice and reinforce the manners he learned around Jared’s family and pets instead of Boogie being in a kennel environment the entire time with zero ability to practice his manners in a home until he came back to us. Jared and Gavin are really talented and knowledgeable about training methods, and I can tell they truly love what they do. When it was time to pick Boogie up, we were extremely nervous because our previous trainer in Texas did a rushed go-home lesson that did not help us at all. All of our fears were eased when we received an incredibly helpful go-home lesson educating us about not only about Boogie’s training, but also giving us the training we needed as Boogie’s family. All of our questions and concerns were answered so there was nothing left to worry about or fear. To hear Jared tell us that Boogie was out and about not just at Lowe’s and Tractor Supply but Forsyth Park as well made my jaw drop. This couldn’t be Boogie they were talking about, but it was! I am so happy to have my big boy back and am so proud of the growth he’s made with Jared and Gavin. Our next meeting is in a few days where Boogie will be in a public setting with me so I can learn about his public training and commands. I cannot express my gratitude to Southern State K-9 Training for the work they have done with Boogie. You have truly saved Boogie and have taken the huge weight of anxiety regarding Boogie’s out of control behavior off of my chest. If you are on the fence, do it! You will not be disappointed.

The trainers are knowledgeable, straight forward, and treat the animals in their care with respect and patience. We are looking forward to seeing what all Dexter is capable of now.
