Sound Dog Connection

Anne Waterbury is professional, warm, and friendly. She is an expert in dog training and has helped us to work with our extremely anxious dog Otis. She has a compassionate approach to working with dogs and helps to train them through reward instead of punishment. Sound dog connection has proved a great way for us to connect with our dog and to help him learn new behaviors so that he isn't as overwhelmed when he leaves the house.

I have been working with Ann for a few months now and am so pleased with the progress we have been making with my pup. He is an anxious, reactive pup but under her training, I have seen his confidence grow. Some situations which used to send him over the edge do not evoke a over-reaction anymore. Even from one training session to the next, I notice improvement. It's such a relief to see the guidance and hard work pay off. I know our path is not an overnight solution, but I am very hopeful that we will get their with Ann's training.

I will be brief, but I could write many paragraphs on how sound dog ( Ann) has helped my dogs. I first met Ann when I was referred by another trainer due to my dog being fearful of children. Well Ann has been a big help in providing me an understanding of my dog and what she needs to be comfortable in the world...she is not a therapy dog ( which was my,human goal) but but she is a wonderful focused driven working dog.. simply I was trying to take a square dog and fit her in a round hole . Through nose work with Ann , Enk ( my lab) can be around children, ignore them and focus on what drives her. During a session I got to participate, I have never felt such joy to witness Enk’s strength and joy , a peak inside her world was heart swelling joy.. Ann figured out what Motivates and brings Enk peace and joy in her life..without Ann I likely would have returned her to the breeder. I have worked with many trainers, but Ann is so much more and can offer your dog training yes, but she can teach how to connect and create harmony and joy for both... she did for Enk and I. If you want to develop a loving caring supportive relationship for canine and human it’s important that we understand our dogs on there level...Ann is the master of teaching humans ( two legged) this art. I truly cannot say enough good things about Ann. As a fellow trainer, I value her knowledge and experience. We have worked together multiple times: when she volunteered at the local shelter where I worked, taking dogs out and working on enrichment activities with them; letting me shadow nose work lessons; and being a sound board for my own personal dogs. I have always found her accessible and I appreciate how she sets her learners up for success (human and dog alike). Ann cares about dogs and the people that love them and it shows. She is always up to date on the science of training and behavior as the field evolves - she works hard to provide the best possible training and behavior consuting services and it shows.
