Solid K9 Training Academy

We cannot say enough good things about the team at Solid k9 Academy. When our dog needed SERIOUS intervention for his crippling separation anxiety, there was no question in my mind that Jeff & Joelle would be able to help. They know dogs AND they are masters at explaining everything you need to know to be successful solviing whatever your dog's issues may be. In our case, our k9 buddy needed to learn how to soothe himself and not destroy himself and the house whenever our family wanted/needed to go out. Prior to his time with SK9T, we had to hire a dogsitter any time (EVERY time) we wanted to leave the house. Think about that. Our dog's anxiety kept us all as hostages in our home. Now - after a successful board and train - SK9T not only solved our buddy's anxiety issues, but we also feel the personal, professional, and detailed training we humans received has taught us that there are no k9 behavior issues we can't solve. There is now peace in our home. Do not hesitate to put your pet in the hands of these professionals. They know their stuff, and you'll wish you had called them sooner.

I don't know where to start...I totally understand why those who have experienced what we have don't want to talk about it because of the stigma, but I will. My dog is highly stimulated (3yo at time/5 now) by small dogs, screaming, running kids, anything high pitched. We were in the front yard of my townhouse when a neighbor walking turned and placed a small dog down on the sidewalk and it headed right into our small space towards my dog. I screamed no, no, no! My dog lunged, the leather leash broke, and he killed the dog. It was to the neck and instant. I'm not negating the emotions/trauma of the owner at all. It was horrific for all of us. The experience gave me major anxiety and fear to the point that I couldn't even walk my dog. I researched every top trainer in the WORLD until I aligned with Jeff and Joelle. It's been a long road...very long but today we just got back from a pack walk (every Sunday now) with 20 dogs which half are off leash (E-collar trained). If not for SK9 showing the "messy middle" I don't believe I could have had the confidence to move forward. I now take my dog with me without hesitation these days, in Virginia, they even allow us to be inside of cafe's. You would not believe the transformation in both me and my dog. Granted my dog had some unknown neurological issues and I believe a lot of his behavior was self-protection however, it's still unwanted behavior (the worst kind) that had to be unlearned. He is medically good for now and thanks to the teamwork he is mentality good too. I will forever and a day LOVE you guys for your knowledge, guidance and support. J&J All Day Long....Keeping Calm and Moving On! If I had to give 1 word to describe Jeff and Joelle it would be Steadfast! Thumper gets around and I'm not riddled with anxiety when we are out and about anymore.

Thank you so much for taking the time to work with our Shar-Pei, Misti. It is so amazing the progress you guys made in such a short time. You did in 6 wks what I had been trying to do for almost 6 months. Coming home and her settling back in went so smooth. She is like a brand new dog. She is better behaved, calmer, but most of all her confidence is so much higher. I feel so much better about having people over and taking her out, I no longer feel on edge and I have more confidence with her now around people in and out of the house. You gave us both the foundation and confidence we had missed and needed to be able to get back out into the world. Courtney was absolutely beyond amazing, I could tell Mist adored her and she was great working with Misti and helping train me as the handler pointing out things and helping tweak my own skills too. We cannot thank you all enough.
