Sol Dog Lodge and Training Center

We have found Pia's "home away from home" in Sol Dog Lodge. What an amazing place. The people who care for Pia are truly kind, compassionate, energetic and loving. Everyone there connects with our pup and with us as if we have been in the family all along. That is really special. Pia is excited to go to camp and is so well cared for while she is there. We have finally found a place where she is comfortable and safe so we can fly to vacation spots! The wonderful staff send us photos of her in various play groups and sometimes from their laps! Did I mention that the facility is beautiful, clean and state of the art? We highly recommend Sol Dog Lodge for your furry family member. You will be so glad you did. There are not enough stars to recommend this place!!! We have tried doggy boarding before with our very high-energy, heavy separation-anxiety-having, kinda-shy-super-crackhead dog (cattle dog/ retriever blend). And we’ve not had great success because of his energy and need levels. So we were nervous to try Sol. But once we did, all fears were gone! The amount of energy and love they pour into these dogs to give them an individualized experience is TOP-NOTCH. We have done Tier 2 boarding three separate times now for 1-4 days at a time. Each time, they send us daily pics and updates, which are just lovely. The best part is how MUCH they tired this little guy out! They do all his favourite activities—and then some—and he gets SO HYPE whenever we pull into the parking lot now. They cater every dogs’ meals to their needs. They have freezers for food, too, which is great. And there’s AC and enclosed outdoor kennels. 10/10!

When we adopted our girl Vessie, we needed a special place that understood trauma histories of dogs and why they might be afraid of people and other dogs. Not only did owner Shelly call me immediately after reading our submitted application for training consideration, but she set in motion months of great relationships with staff, including Kim Stoll with training and tremendous boarding and grooming staff. Already Vessie loves to play, train, and board with Sol Dogs. She’s already hanging out with some other dogs and comfortable with new people!! This is absolutely amazing and the mark of a really great place. What you also might not know about Sol Dogs is that they provide emergency housing for animals that need it in the event of family emergency like fire, etc. They work closely with the police and the fire department so that families don’t have to worry about what will happen with their dog or their cat or their bird or their fish when they have to leave their home. All of this is to say that’s all Dogs is a different place. It’s a community.

We have been working with Sol Dog trainers the past 2 years, taking advantage of puppy and now adult dog classes, their PAL program and private training. We are big fans of Sol Dog and their mission of supporting dogs and their owner in finding a rewarding relationship keeping dogs in their homes. We’re very excited to see future classes and services offered at the new training center! More recently we started working with Celeste on some at home behavioral issues with our Frenchie. She’s amazing! So experienced and professional. Always on time or early, comprehensive follow-up notes (our homework) and extremely organized with future training appointment recommendations. Such an asset for Sol Dog. We’ve noticed and appreciate the expansion of support staff and reminders of upcoming appointments. We have Rocky groomed by Kaitlan. Love her and how beautiful Rocky looks and smells afterwards. Also Celeste is encouraging us having Rocky boarded at Sol Dog. We’re very interested in trying that service as well, in the future.
