About Smart K9 Training
WHY A BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST? Behavior Specialists are able to read and understand canine behavior beyond public knowledge. Behavior Specialists can work with either dogs and owners that have already developed some type of negative behavior or owners who want to work with their young dogs to prevent behavior issues from occurring in the future. All of our programs are structured around communication and leadership first, because no amount of treats or toys can make up for a lack of trust, understanding, or respect. Due to the complex nature of the canine mind, we don’t advocate any single training method or tool. Each dog must be evaluated individually before the most effective method can be determined.

Why is it so hard to get ahold of anyone I have left Numerous voice mails and have not heard back i have emailed them I don't have any other way inless I drive down there but being i live in grand forks i would like to talk and discuss Before hand
Hi Matthew, it looks like our staff responded to all of your emails within 48 business hours which is our current expected wait time. I have been going to Smart K9 since December 2020 and it has been the most positive impact on myself and my dog. The team at Smart K9 has done wonderful things. Our trainer is Gen and she has helped build Keyha’s confidence and mine both. They have shown me the proper tools and commands to have a positive working relationship with my pup. What I enjoy the most is she has also taken the time to train me on how to properly work with Keyha, they didn’t just train Keyha and expect me to figure it out. They took the time to train my dog and then take the time to show me how to incorporate what they have done in my daily life with Keyha. I look forward to how far we can go with Gen as a team. She is FANTASTIC and is very passionate and knowledgeable about training dogs and dog owners.
Smart K9 did a terrific job with our 3 month old Alaskan Malamute. This breed can be a handful and very independent. His ability to be obedient after attending Smart K9 has been awesome. We’re an active family who attend our kids sporting events and spend lots of time at the park. Koda is now able to join us and be a part of daily activities without causing us any extra stress.
