FirstBarkIf you are looking for a great trainer in the Houston area, I highly recommend William at Slater Kennels. I went into the field and observed his equipment, methodology and temperament and rate all as 5 star. His boarding setup is first class as well. My lab came from and was trained by Wildrose Kennels originally and I had William do some follow up. I am very pleased and will be going back soon!

Will takes care of your pup like he does his own. He's clearly dedicated and attentive to those choose to board & train with him. Its a small operation, so you know your dog is getting great care. I boarded my retriever with Will for 2 weeks, & Will was nice enough to take my dog out with his to run around so he got more than enough exercise. Will also is an experienced trainer with hunting dogs, & knows how to take care of dogs well - knowing this put my mind at ease. I have boarded with several other locations near Will & none of them measure up. On top of it all, Will is a kind, honest young man eager to work hard for his customers. Thanks again Will!
Very professional and kept me updated on my dogs progression through the training. Always answered the phone when called or text and was extremely helpful in teaching and helping me understand how these hunt test work.
William is one of the best I have seen as a dog trainer and person. Close proximity to inner loop Houston and great facilities. My Boykin Spaniel Goose went in for a force fetch situation and came out with his Junior Hunter Title. William understands each dog he receives and what it takes to make them excel. Highly recommended !

William is a pro! Unlike some of the other puppy care choices, William responded quickly, asked to see vaccine records, agreed to meet and great and asked a ton of questions to make sure he can provide good care for my dog. I have a trained service dog, so poorly trained individual can cause a lot of harm. My dog is a picky eater and whenever he is in a new environment he initially won’t eat or will eat very little. Unlike others, William kept me in the loop about how much he ate or didn’t eat. I will definitely book another stay with William.
