Sky Soldier Dog Training

Our lives have completely changed after training with Brandon. We used Brandon’s services a couple months ago when our Mia (Jack Russell/mini poodle) was 6 months old. We came into the training exhausted and deflated - we had just finished a 4-week ‘puppy socialization’ course with another local training group where material was recycled each week and no tailoring to our specific dog’s needs. We left it feeling no stronger in handling Mia than when we had started. We had many sleepless nights and unfocused workdays trying to understand Mia and how to best train her and were spiraling. We found Brandon and scheduled a 1:1 phone call consultation, where we explained all our concerns (obedience, nipping, pulling on leash, etc). Our biggest problem being Mia barking, specifically when anyone walked passed or came up to the screen door. Over the next 6 weeks, we focused on a different problem area each session, and also built upon the previous session. Brandon made sure to explain what we were doing and WHY we were doing it. If a specific correction wasn’t working, Brandon appropriately escalated our approach to one that Mia would respond to. There was never a “once size fits all” solution. Administrative: Scheduling sessions was a breeze, we emailed our availability prior to starting, and booked all our time slots at once. Brandon was never late for a session, always early, and each session was followed by and email summary that covered the day in review and our “homework” for the next session. There is such an attention to detail in Brandon’s training methods/ business model that there’s no question that Brandon is the only trainer in the STL area we’d recommend. We (including Mia) are less anxious because of this training work we put in. Some of our biggest wins: Mia no longer tugs on walks, goes to her place without needing correction during dinner time, and our biggest win>> Mia can now sit at the front door with the mail man walking up to her and not make a single peep 🥹

Working with Brandon/Sky Soldier Dog Training has been so beneficial for our family. He gave us the ways and means to deal with our new dog. He helped us see that the aggressive behavior our dog was showing was really a cover for his fearfulness. Brandon gave us a balanced approach to interacting with our dog which brought about marked improvement from week to week. He also provided us with a review of that day's lesson in an email along with suggested videos and reference books/articles. This helped as we practiced each week's lesson with our dog. As dog owners, he helped build our confidence in responding appropriately to our dog's behavior. We are very pleased with our experience with Sky Soldier Dog Training!
