I'm long winded so hang on to your hats here. My husband and I are dog adopters. We must've been lucky with our first 2 because some, but not a ton of work was really needed. We rescued a shepherd mix girl in January and have had A TIME with her. Not sure her background but it must've not been great. Separation anxiety, crate escaping (with blood everywhere), flight type fear, tail tucked, very mistrusting of humans. We had the help of a local trainer and made some serious strides but we both work full time and knew our girl still needed a lot of work. Our trainer recommended Charlotte. Now also, in full disclosure, I'm probably a bit of a helicopter dog mom. I don't normally trust many people with taking care of them, however, Charlotte put me at ease immediately with the procedure of booking. It not just an immediate drop off. We came to her and let Wu meet her at a distance and sniffed in the backyard. When that went well, we did a trial sleep over, THEN we were able to book. It's a lot but it's important to give Chelotte and our crazy girl a good chance at success. Fast forward, after 3 weeks this girl is SO MUCH more confident. Charlotte was responsive to all of my texts to check on her and we got pictures through her stay with what she's been working on. An hour session on drop off set us up for our ongoing homework to keep helping crazy girl Wu. I will absolutely be returning in the future for higher level training. The positive reinforcement and home boarding atmosphere were perfect for her. Charlotte is not only knowledgeable and caring for dogs but she is confident in what she does, which makes me (and Wu girl) more confident. The price and time invested are worth it!
