I have a alaskan husky approx 2 yrs old he is a pound rescue and have had him a year and a half he is a great dog but I just can't figure out his motivation factor he is not food or treat motivated i still can't get him to come most times refuses to sit or stay the basics let alone off leash training

Our Dog Ellie ran the household, she would nip, scratch furniture, chew on walls, counter surf and would take us for walks. We tried taking her to the pet store training sessions but were told she was the most hyper dog they had ever seen and they didn’t do anything for her behavior, just tricks. We heard about Sit means Sit from one of their clients at an event put on by the vet. We didn’t reach out until we tried to leave her with my in-laws for 2 weeks and it went as well as you would expect. So we reached out and within 3 weeks we were able to get her to behave pretty well in the house, and now we can walk her loose leashed, something we never thought was possible with her. The trainers are all knowledgeable and really care about you and your dog personally.

I started working with Sit Means Sit July 2024. Initially I was hesitant about utilizing an E-Collar as a training modality. Simply I do not like the idea/psychology of it. However, I came to be the primary caregiver for my parents dog Luna a Belgian Malinois (the Ferrari of dogs apparently) because her behavior were too much for them to handle.
As I assessed the situation I felt this breed, and my lack of time to commit as I would prefer(seeing as I did not anticipate owning a Belgian malinois), needed a quick solution because if no solution was found then she would be rehoused and possibly sent to a shelter. I personally was not comfortable with placing her in a shelter knowing that this breed has a difficult time getting adopted due to their high needs.
So I took a chance on Sit Means Sit and it was the best choice for us. Sit Means Sit really helped me manage nibbling, leash pulling, fear around water, recall and overall to be consistent as an owner. I can now say because of Sit Means Sit Sit I can comfortably take her out to restaurants and into the community with me, she can be off leash when I take her hiking or to the beach with considerably less risk and increased confidence when in the community. I personally also enjoy the community aspect of Sit Means Sit and the events that happen throughout the year.
All I can say for whoever is considering Sit Means Sit is to consider your personal situation and your breed. Everyone’s circumstance is so different, you have to make the right choice for you.

Sit means Sit San Gabriel Valley is a great place to train your Puppy/Dog.The trainers there are more then happy to work with you and your pup, I appreciate all the training. My dog has become a dog that is manageable... she is a well behaved and a better dog. I have received compliments on her behavior!
