My French bulldog attended training for resource guarding. Per the contract, I was under the impression that the program included six classes; however, I believe my dog only received five. While my dog did become slightly calmer after learning some basic skills, the primary issue—resource guarding—was not resolved. The trainers’ own dogs are constantly trained and rely heavily on shock collars, which appears to be the main method this company uses and promotes. One thing that deeply concerned me is that my dog consistently came home with the same amount of food that I sent with him, which raises questions about how the training was conducted. Ultimately, I paid $2,200 for a training approach centered around a shock collar—something that can be purchased online and learned through publicly available resources. Based on my experience, if your dog needs behavioral training, I would recommend hiring a personal trainer instead, which is often far more effective and significantly less expensive.
