What we truly love is they are available at almost anytime time/day to take your calls and emails when you have questions or need assistance with your pups training. Fantastic experience with them. Jessica and the rest of the office team answer all questions quickly and courteously. Ethan was the trainer that worked with my dog and he was patient, knowledgeable, and reassured me he'd treat my puppy like it was his own. The team sent me daily updates via text, and also sent me videos of Ethan working with my dog. He did very much care for my dog and enjoy working with her. Also, the results were very noticeable. My dog Daisy already knew a lot of the commands but she improved on duration, distance, distractions. And now I can easily build on that. If I get another dog I'd happily do this again.

My husband and I rescued our husky mix puppy named June from the humane society when she was 12 weeks old. Since she is a high-energy, large-breed dog we wanted to be sure she would be well trained so we could giver her the best life possible. Before we brought June to the board and train at Sit Means Sit, she was pretty uncontrollable, and while she knew sit, down, etc, she would only do them sometimes and would not hold the commands and had essentially no recall. Ever since picking June up from the board and train she has been able to hold place, sit, and down for increasingly longer periods (now up to 20 minutes!), she is improving on heal, her recall is dramatically better, she's even restraining herself now from chasing our cat, and I know feel like I have the tools and resources to help her become an amazing off-leash adventure doggy. We were initially skeptical of sending June to a board and train or anywhere that uses any type of collar, however we are so glad we decided to choose Sit Means Sit for our pup. The collar does not cause any pain (my husband and I test it out on our hands every time before putting it on our dog and I have to have it on almost the highest setting to even feel anything at all) and it is incredibly effective for positive reinforcement training and overall safety. The staff are very responsive and it is amazing that we can text them any time about any questions or issues we're having and will get a reply from June's trainer within a day. We know they treat the dogs so well at Sit Means Sit because June gets sooo excited every time we go back for a lesson and she loves her trainer Ethan so much. I signed up my dog, PJ, for training at Sit Means Sit. He went through five one-day board and train sessions, followed by a few private sessions, and now we’re doing group classes. PJ is a high drive, energetic dog who needs clear structure and boundaries. Prior to training, squirrels, birds, bikes, runners, and on-leash dogs were all triggers that would cause PJ to explode, lunge, and bark incessantly, making it almost impossible to connect with or redirect him to more appropriate behaviors. I was feeling lost, stressed, and so frustrated, as we had seen minimal improvement even after training with PJ consistently almost every day using other methods. After three months of training with Sit Means Sit PDX, we’ve seen so much progress and have the structure we need to support PJ. His ability to focus has significantly increased and his reactivity has gotten so much better. These days, we’re able to work through these moments. He’s easily redirected in the presence of his triggers and often responds in a neutral way. I want to give a special shout-out to Kaylee. PJ absolutely loved her, and it’s clear how much she cares about the dogs she trains. She was patient in working with PJ and great at explaining how to apply the training techniques. She was thorough at every lesson, making sure we felt supported by answering our questions and giving us effective strategies to work through problem behaviors at home. Overall, this training was so worth it and has helped me feel much more connected with my dog, and while we still have occasional challenges, I now have the tools I need to work with and support him.
