Sit Means Sit Dog Training - Philadelphia

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Sit Means Sit. My 6 month old puppy, Penn, needed to get basic training started so he can become a Therapy dog and SMS has been the most amazing program for him. He just finished his 5 week Platinum program and thanks to the incredible trainers - Gianna, Ava, Gemini and Liz - Penn is a different dog! He has learned basic walking and recall skills and has an incredible foundation to take him to the next level of skills. The trainers are really fantastic and care so much! They are so patient with Penn (and me, since I was trained too). Penn started with Gianna, who I think he is in love with, then moved onto Gemini who is just the absolute sweetest, then we worked with Liz who was so encouraging as she helped Penn (and me) with his walking manners when going through doors and lastly, we got to work with Ava who worked on some finishing touches with Penn and helped him to graduate to Group classes. They were all so patient with Penn and I got consistent feedback from the trainers as we practiced his skills at home and he is getting better and better each day! We are excited to start our group classes with these wonderful trainers and to learn even more!

My husband and I signed up our dog for the 5 week program. We were super nervous because our dog never had proper training before. She's super friendly but sometimes she plays a little too rough and gets a bit snappy at other dogs. She's filled with a lot of energy, which left us clueless on where to begin with her training. My husband had seen the Sit Means Sit booth at a convention so we decided to give them a chance. All the trainers reassured us that Tofu was doing great and that it will take some time for her to calm down her behaviors. Huge shout out to Elizabeth, Ava and Gemini for working with Tofu! They were fantastic and very patient with Tofu. They were super helpful and answered all our questions leaving us satisfied with our choice in trusting them. We can't wait to sign Tofu up for group trainings!

Our experience at Sit Means Sit was fantastic! Our Golden Retriever was getting close to 2 years old, and although he knew some basic commands and was generally a good dog, he was defiant when distracted and terrible leash walking and recall, especially around other dogs. As a puppy he was very food-oriented, but that went away and our attempts at training using conventional ideas from a few at-home trainer sessions were not working. We looked at this expense as a long-term investment in his and our well being, and figured if even having reliable recall saved him from getting hit by a car one time in 10 years, it would be well worth the price. It’s fair to say, they exceeded our expectations. Even after the 1st session there was a huge improvement, and by the end of week 5 he was a totally different dog. Gemini, Liz, Gianna and Ava all worked with him (and us) throughout his basic training and all of them were amazing! Every week they would talk to us about how he was doing, what our goals were, what we worked on between sessions, and where we needed/wanted more focus. It was a team effort and they were very attentive to our personal goals and we happily achieved them together. Our dog is not only well trained after the 5 weeks, but looking to us now for direction everywhere we go (which he didn’t do much before). We are very excited to continue his progress in the group classes, which will help reinforce his training during distractions since he loves other dogs so much. These were also a great selling point to us for the price: 2 years of continued group training is unique to Sit Means Sit and a great value compared to other training programs we considered. We even got to see the progress of other Friday dogs and they all made great strides from the first day we dropped our dog off.
