Sit Means Sit Dog Training - Philadelphia

Thank you, Sit Means Sit! The collar and group training have helped us better gain and keep the attention of our dog, Bonzo. Thank you, especially, to trainers Caitlin and Ava for skills demonstration and human training (the most important part!) and Alexis for admin support! I must add that, in my experience, I found some aspects challenging. A thunderstorm came through during one group training day and I picked Bonzo up early. Since I did not feel there was enough time for human training, I did not receive new material in-person to work on at home. When I did not receive any sort of follow-up after two days, I inquired about new material and was told that an instructor would reach out, but no one did. After another two days, I inquired again with no response. Early pick ups may happen rarely, but I wish there had been a handout/video of some kind to share. The trainers work very hard and the humans want to implement that effort with their dog. When I reached out about scheduling another half day, Alexis was very helpful. Additionally, the training process requires the submission of videos of at-home training. I submitted videos on three occasions and received no acknowledgement that the videos were viewed. I would have liked feedback, especially on anything that I could do better to implement the training aspects. All in all, I appreciate Sit Means Sit staff who are helping humans and dogs. Bonzo was able to graduate (thank you!) and we are excited to start group class!

We had another wonderful private lesson with Caitlin today. Our 3 year old rescue Labradoodle (and us) are getting the best dog training we’ve experienced. Caitlin is helping us to walk “Beans” rather than Beans taking us for a walk. Our furry friend has changed her behavior in many ways, including several commands she (and us) needed a lot of help with. Walking Beans is not a huge struggle any longer. We’re also learning to heel, and it’s becoming a pleasure to have Beans walk obediently. Looking forward to continued training in both private and group lessons. I must mention that Sal, the owner of this (and other) locations is fantastic to work with. He’s very pleasant, and willing to help in any way possible, whenever we cross paths with him. I cannot recommend Sit Means Sit highly enough.

We adopted a 4 year old golden retriever who was afraid of her own shadow. She would hide under the table, chew through leashes and dig holes under our fence in order to escape. After the 1st lesson she learned to stay in place so we could get her out from under the table, she can now tolerate large groups of people without hiding and she walks well on a leash. Ava, Liz and Gianna were very patient with her (and with us) as we learned to use the remote to encourage good behavior. The system Sit Means Sit uses works. Pennys is living proof:)
