Sit Means Sit Dog Training North Alabama

Alex and Jess have worked wonders with our pup! We have an extremely high energy, anxious, and reactive dog. He is also deaf, so we have struggled to communicate with him. After just a couple of sessions, we saw a HUGE difference in our dog. We are now able to communicate clearly and effectively with him, and he is so much calmer now that he is able to expend energy through training. Instead of becoming reactive in unknown situations, he looks to us for guidance. Jess has been so patient and encouraging throughout the whole process. You can tell that they both have a passion for working with dogs, and genuinely care about their clients. We could not recommend Alex and Jess enough!

I attended the Spring Show at the Von Braun Civic Center this year, 2024. While browing booths I found one in particular, Sit Means Sit Dog Training. I have a 6 year old Dachshund. She has separation anxiety, has never been to ANY training. I enlisted her, and myself, in Sit Means Sit Dog Training. In 4 sessions my dog can sit, come to me, heal, and place (go to her bed). We work on her fears & so she is also more calm from less anxiety because she is building confidence. She is happy. She is so much easier to walk on her leash because she isn't pulling me, but now she walks beside me and watches my direction and my moves to follow and stay in step with me. If I had not experienced this I would have never believed this could happen in such a short time frame. Only 4 sessions, but I and my dog have worked everyday with minium of 4 sessions 15 to 30 minutes long, or on some days 5 to 7 sessions averaging 15 minutes long. I will never regret talking to Jessica & Alex and all the employees there at Sit Means Sit. They are all fantastic people. It's a life changing experience for both the owner, owners and the dog. If you love your dog as much as I love mine I would highly recomend them. I would not go or trust my dog with anyone else.

A friend recommended I contact SMS for training my 10-month-old English Setter. He knew basic commands but practiced selective listening, and morning walks had become daily resistance training for me. After evaluating him, Jessica suggested their puppy program for which I immediately signed up. Sully attended two full days on-site at their facility, one-on-one with a trainer, followed by sessions both on- and off-site to teach me proper use of the e-collar. There was marked improvement after the first day. After completing the puppy program, I’ve continued to use SMS day care and group classes occasionally to retain what we’ve learned. Sully is a high energy hunting breed, but with proper training and time is settling in to be a great companion. Jessica and Alex have brought together an excellent team who know and understand dogs and how to train them. 5 stars!
