When we found Daniel, I was borderline hopeless for our relationship with our 10 month old German Shepherd. We had worked with another trainer and were still having an impossible time handling his unruly behaviors. Daniel taught us the difference between obedience and behavior, and the different strategies for addressing each. I went from thinking we would have to re-home our dog with someone that has ample GSD experience to being excited and proud of how far we and our dog have come in the 4 weeks he did the board and train with Daniel at Signature K9. Even more impressive than Daniel with our dog, is his ability to communicate and educate my husband and me. He has been (and continues to be) patient and reassuring now that our dog is home and we are putting in the work to ensure all the work Daniel did is not forgotten. My only regret is not having found Sugnature K9 sooner.

Daniel is extremely knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions. He took time out of his busy day to meet with us over an adoption, walk us through all of the time he has put into training, and made sure we understood how to continue once we got home. He is very thorough in not only making sure the dog would be a good fit for us, but that we would be a good fit for the dog. I am grateful for his dedication and would recommend him to anyone! We love Dibbs and are so happy he is a part of our family!

I had a very wild golden retriever that had no impulse control when around other people/dogs. I had first tried going to a popular dog training place in Austin for obedience training, but honestly it wasn’t what my pup needed. He knew some commands but would do them only when he knew he was getting a reward and still lacked proper obedience (even though that’s what I told them my primary concern was). I was referred to Daniel from a friend whose pup was very well behaved and decided to give it a shot. Daniel and Justin’s training style is just what my dog needed to understand what was good behavior and what was not tolerated. I ended up doing the 4 week board and train and It’s been about a month since he finished. He now understands what is tolerable and what isn’t. I feel like there is a new level of respect with my dog I hadn’t had before

I ended up bringing my dog Leo to Signature K9 because I genuinely felt like I was out of options. He’s a small 7 year old shih tzu, but he has always been incredibly anxious and possessive and I had issues with aggression (snapping and actually biting for various reasons, and it was really hard to take him to the vet or get someone who would groom him.) He has been banned/fired from boarding places and groomers for his behavior and I was honestly scared I wouldn’t find someone who could help us. I’ve also been to other trainers and behavioralists and couldn’t find anything that seemed to make a difference. I ended up enrolling Leo in the 6 week board and train after my friend recommended them. Daniel and Justin were amazing with him (and I) the whole time. They were direct and honest, but also super empathetic about how hard it’s been for me with him over the years. My dog has a lot of strange quirks and behavior and they both were super great with him. Training with them was always a good experience and I never felt like I was being judged for any of his behavior (which has definitely happened to me before with other trainers or behavior specialists). After the 6 weeks, Daniel has still been super available and helpful answering questions or advising on how he’s doing. It’s been a lot of work (as it should be), but I’m super happy with the changes. It’s been a couple of weeks since the program and I can tell Leo understands boundaries and obviously respects me in a way he never did before and actually listens to me when I correct or command him. I have seen almost no aggression so far, even at the vet when he usually has to be held down by multiple people to be looked at. It definitely still takes work to constantly enforce the training, but it’s 100% worth it. I would definitely recommend Signature K9 and I’m super happy I found them.
