Sidekicks Dog Training

We recently got a puppy and were struggling with basic training and biting. After researching dog training on YouTube without much success, we decided to look for a trainer and found Sidekicks Dog Training. The owner/ trainer Tim is awesome! He has expert knowledge of training techniques and dog breeds; we learned so much and he was very helpful anytime we had questions throughout the process. One of the facets of the program we enjoyed most was the structure. Tim met us at home for our initial consultation and then several different environments after so we could conduct and advance our training based on outside stimuli / distractions. There was also homework given each week to reinforce the lessons we covered and it helped us stay accountable on our end. The whole experience felt much more engaging and realistic than meeting at the same place each week, as with some programs. We are so happy we reached out to Sidekicks for our training needs. We learned so much and feel more confident as dog owners. The best thing about our experience is that we now have a much stronger bond with our pup than before. I recently welcomed home a sweet but very anxious and reactive rescue, Shiloh.Tim provided progressive and individualized lessons. When we first started, Shiloh just knew sit. She was also terrified during our walks in the city, pulling on the leash and reacting to all the sounds, dogs and people around her. Following five lessons, she’s learned several more commands, she’s improved leaps and bounds on her walks, and she has learned to co-exist with other dogs around her. We even had a successful outing at a brewery! While she is still a timid and sometimes reactive girl, I’m so pleased with her incredible improvement, and seeing both her and my own confidence working with her improve!
