Sensitive Dog

We worked with Darcie from Sensitive Dog Training to help us navigate a very reactive pup that we had adopted. After several other trainers and programs we were so glad to have started working with Darcie. Her knowledge and natural intuition with dogs is easy to see and incredibly informative. She worked tirelessly to make sure we had the training we needed to improve both our own quality of life and our dogs. When we worked with Darcie we gained a friend and mentor. When our pup sadly passed away, despite being over a year since we had finished our training sessions, Darcie was an incredible source of comfort for my partner and I as we went through this process of grief. Her empathy and understanding gave us strength and peace in one of the most difficult times of our lives. We are grateful to have worked with Darcie and would recommend her services without hesitation to anyone looking for help when it comes to your K-9 family.

I did an intensive training with Darcie in 2020 for my Golden Retriever, Daisy, and have since had a few lessons for check-ins as needed. Darcie is a fantastic trainer and has helped Daisy (and me) learn the right training techniques, and has gone above and beyond to recommend other products and lifestyle changes. Daisy is very stubborn, and I reached out to Sensitive Dog after trying other training methods which weren’t effective. With Darcie’s help Daisy has significantly improved in her leash walking and is now fully trained for off leash recall. I’ve also done a few sessions with Julie as well who is also great. I highly recommend them both!

!!!!HUGE FAN!!!! Amazingly informative, fun, personal and holistic dog manners, nutrition, training in a lovely setting indoors and outside. What a game changer! Our first two and half hour session was what we needed the day we adopted our young adult rescue dog. Julie could have handed us the keys on how to help our high energy little Jojo settled into our home. Sadly, we went to other trainers and struggled for two years with reactivity to bikes, cars, barking and jumping on us and the guests in our home, and very annoying barking at our neighbors’ dogs. Now we not only have the tools to work on all this, we have the science behind it. Also, our vet was loading our poor dog with unnecessary drugs. Luckily we changed vets right before visiting Julie and now I can pick and choose what’s right for my dog in an informed and proactive manner. This is a bargain compared to the time, energy and money we’ve spent trying to solve our training issues on our own. I will definitely be following up with more sessions.
