Sensitive Dog

Working with Julie at Sensitive Dog has been incredible. My dog is reactive and used to easily trick me into rewarding her bad behavior. But no more! Julie has given me so much insight into my dog's behavior, how I can be a confident pet parent, and the right tools to get us back on track with training. We signed up for a four-week training session, and I have seen so much difference in those few weeks. I feel much more confident in my abilities and feel so positive about the future with my dog. This has been such a great experience with Sensitive Dog and I couldn't recommend them enough!

As others have mentioned, Julie is a wealth of knowledge - clearly knows dogs and I'm very grateful for the personalized session.  My 10 month old dachshund has had health issues, and she helped me recognize the link between health and training, and was very helpful in educating me about ways to help him.  She also introduced some very simple commands that my pup responded to immediately.  I'm dealing with his adolescence and my own ignorance in how to manage and correct some of his behavior.  The session was so packed with information that it will keep me busy for months.  I highly recommend Sensitive Dog.  You will not regret it.

I could not have asked for a better experience. I recently worked with Julie on training my two pups (one older, with a few specific needs and the other, a boisterous one year old who needed more foundational training). Julie takes the time to understand your dogs, what drives them, what they respond to and takes time to educate you about not just how to teach them but why it works, what’s going on in their minds that drives the behavior. Because of that approach I feel prepared not just to continue training on the things we covered but to address new needs or add new commands over time in a way that works for my dogs. Last but not least she cares about and adapts to your unique lifestyle and goals. We covered everything from leash walking and not rushing out the door to commands to keep him in a safe, comfortable space when riding the train or spending time at a cafe. Couldn’t recommend enough!

Julie Forbes was a perfect fit for our family and two 7 month old Australian Labradoodles. As dog owners we had many challenges with our puppies which were very close in age - barking, leash pulling, and chaos, stranger reactivity, fear, chewing, lunging, counter surfing, and social insecurities. Customized, intense coaching with Julie made all the difference in the world. Every aspect of our puppies’s training was personalized to their’s and our needs. The end results were a clear understanding and loving connection we developed with our puppies. As they are still young we continue to see improvements every day using the tools and knowledge Julie so thoughtfully gave us.

We had a great experience during our first training session with Julie. She listened to our concerns and walked us through all of the leash training techniques that she thought would work best for our situation.
