Sadie's Rules K9 Training

We took our 5 year old hound dog Gordon to Jess for a 3 week board and train. My family adopted Gordon when he was 2 years old and worked through some major separation anxiety issues with him. While we made a lot of progress with Gordon over the years, we felt like we hit a plateau on his learning and still couldn't fully trust him in high distraction or stressful situations. Jess and her team worked very patiently with Gordon to help him learn how to walk on a leash respectfully, behave well around guests, and be alone in his crate in a comfortable manner. We are very happy with our experience with Jess and would highly recommend her to anyone interested in balanced training for their dog! Even once we came home, Jess was very supportive in answering questions and ensuring that what Gordon learned at training would be transferred to our every day life.

We were very skeptical of balanced training and the e collar before sending our pup, Gordon, to Sadie’s Rules but we had tried every other tactic out there for 9 months and life with Gordon was actually becoming unsustainably stressful so we made a leap of faith. We can’t even begin to convey what a wonderful decision this was and how wrong our concerns about balanced training were.  The training Gordon received was not harsh and hasty.  It was firm but also intelligent, gentle, patient, and loving.  Gordon was in extremely thoughtful hands.  .   It’s been about 2 months since he came back from training and Gordon is absolutely a dream of a family member.  He’s still his goofy and affectionate self but none of the anxiety and difficulty of caring for him remain.  He’s SO EASY to have around— we rarely have to correct him or ask him more than once to do anything.  It’s as if he finally understands what it means to be part of our pack and we can all relax and have fun together.  He just gets it!    Everyone who meets him remarks on what a sweet and loving and GOOD boy he is.  He knocks people’s socks off with his temperament and behavior.  It’s crazy to think that before we sent him to Sadie’s Rules we wondered if we would have to rehome Gordon.  Now he’s such an important part of our family, we can’t imagine life without him. It was worth every penny and we are very, very grateful!

We just got our dog back from a 3 week stay last week. The first weekend she was home she was put through the test of spending a few days with another highly energetic dog. She exceeded our expectations! We were so impressed with her listening skills and her ability to stay calm and focus on us when she had lots of distractions. Jess and her team have been very receptive to our questions and have offered plenty of support. We’re so happy we can enjoy our dog more and she’s happier as well! We would definitely recommend and will send any future dogs we have to Jess!
