Training is simple, but it’s not easy, and that’s why our mission is to give guidance to owners everywhere using a results driven and balanced approach since 2013.
Everything we do begins with foundation training! While introducing your dog to new commands we know the importance of using primarily positive reinforcement to make sure we are creating confidence, focus, motivation and clear communication.
Once you have established your new relationship, we use training collars (e-collars) to test our training in any environment. We find value in applying mental and physical exercise to this process to make sure your dog maintains a relaxed state of mind around distractions. We are about working smarter, not harder!

It’s been a couple of months since Winnie completed her 3 week board and train, and she is a new dog in the best way. Jenna from Ruff Rules worked on her confidence, walking manners, crate manners, brushed up on other commands, and so much more. I’m truly impressed by the way they communicate with their dogs as well as keeping their owners up to date with multiple videos a day of what they’re working on. Keely & Ruff Rules deserve 10 stars!
If you’re anything like me, the thought of sending your dog away for 3 weeks, or using an e-collar, can feel terrifying. Will they come back scared, sad, or completely different?? Due to these concerns, we had tried multiple in-home trainers for our reactive dog, Bob, but with little success. Bob lunged at other dogs, barked at strangers, and didn’t let anyone in our house without making a scene. He was a wild boy.
After hearing amazing things from many friends and neighbors, and following Ruff Rules on Instagram, we scheduled a call and meet-and-greet with Keely, and immediately knew she was the right trainer for Bob.
Bob spent 3 weeks at Ruff Rules, alongside other dogs who were training or boarding. We received daily updates and video clips of his progress, which we - and our family and friends - loved watching! In the final week, we joined Keely for several training sessions so she could teach us how to support Bob at home.
The transformation is incredible!!! Bob now walks perfectly in heel, doesn’t lunge at dogs, doesn’t bark at people, and - most impressively - is fully off-leash trained! The e-collar is a gentle, simple reminder, and is not scary. Keely used compassion, fairness, and expertise to train Bob. Most importantly - Bob is the same happy, sweet, goofy boy that he has always been...but now he listens!!
Keely genuinely cares about every dog she works with, and the results speak for themselves. If you’re considering a board-and-train program, stop looking - Keely is the one to trust. We are beyond grateful for her work with Bob. Thank you, Keely!!!!

Jenna did a great job with a board and train for our dog Luka. He can now coexist with his kitty sister and we can have company over without him jumping or getting all riled up. She did a fantastic job explaining to us owners the expectations and teaching us how to teach Luka. I couldn’t recommend her enough!
