Ruff Rules

I sent my new rescue, Laney, to Eva at Ruff Rules. She's 2 years old and I only had her for 2 month prior to sending her to 3 weeks board and train. She was reactive on and off leash to other dogs, birds and lizards. She is a terrier, so when she locked in on something she was fixated and wouldn't listen. I was hesitant about sending her off for 3 weeks so soon after rescuing her and giving her a new home, but having Laney board at Eva's house made it much easier. When I walked in, it was so clean and Laney loved it. I was concerned she would be scared or hesitant, but she was at ease in her home and that made it so much easier for me. Eva assured me that Laney wouldn't forget who I was during her time away, which was a concern since I'd only have her for 2 months. Good news, she absolutely remembered who I was and gave me the most love when I saw her at the check in. I feel our bond is stronger now. Eva sent videos and photos every day of her working with Laney, which helped me to see her progress and also helped to see how Eva communicated with Laney during training, so that I could try to do the same. My main concerns with Laney were her reactivity, learning her basic commands, and providing a safe environment for my growing 11 month old nephew. The e collar is such a great training tool. My little Laney can be stubborn, but that's where I needed Eva, she worked through that in a way that I just couldn't. She now knows all of her commands, she can still be stubborn, but the hard part is already done and Eva has given me the tools to grow with her and that eases the overwhelming feeling of emotions (not good) I was having. When she runs off in the yard to be a dog, I feel more at ease because if she gets too mischievous now, I am able to call her back and have control. This is allowing both of us to enjoy our time now, knowing there is structure and recall. Her reactivity to other dogs is now neutral and she can coexist, which is all I wanted (she's a people person), stress free. Having her learn place and staying there has created ease with my little nephew as he grows and learns to walk. Overall I would recommend Ruff Rules to every dog owner. Eva did such a fantastic job in working with Laney and the biggest part of that is in her follow up and working with me. Eva is my emotional support dog trainer lol but she is also much more than, she'll be what you need.

Wow, cannot say enough about how great and amazing Eva has been for our family! We did a 2.5 week board and train and from the start she sent daily videos that were clear and informative of what they were working on— also nice to refer back at home to do refreshers. She took our key concerns and poured her heart into our pup to make sure she could remain neutral in our daily lives. We really are sooo thankful for Eva and all she has done for us. It’s crazy how in such a short program they are able to rewire all the not so fun habits into a more calm,confident, and most importantly reliable dog! Thank you so much ruff rules for making our lives at home easier and manageable— owe you guys our all!

I can’t say enough good things about Jenna at Ruff Rules. I did the 2+ week training program, and it was one of the best decisions I could have made for my dog. Before training, I felt like I constantly had to manage him anytime people came over because he would get overly excited and “friendly” in a way that could be a lot for visitors. Now, he’s a completely different dog. I take him out in public all the time, and I feel so much more confident in him and in our ability to enjoy those outings together. What truly sets Ruff Rules apart is the combination of training skill, genuine love for the dogs, and the expertise to understand what each individual dog needs — while also listening to what I was ultimately hoping for. Jenna gave me everything I ever hoped for in training and more. If you’re thinking about doing this training for your dog, just know: it is worth every nickel. I highly, highly recommend Ruff Rules!
