Rob's Dogs (Dog Training)

I first found Rob’s Dogs when I was surfing around the internet for dog training. Like many other dog owners, I thought, “yeah right, like that could happen” when I saw their videos. I am delighted to say, I was wrong. My 5-year-old pit bull, Steele, had a rough couple years before I got him. He was fought as a puppy which led to his primary reaction to be aggression when faced with fear or when protecting me. I love having a great protective dog, it was difficult to teach him when I did not need protecting. Outside of his aggression, he would go the opposite emotional track and be overly excited when taking him for walks. He would pull and make it impossible to enjoy any outdoor activity. At 105 pounds, he walked me, not the other way around. Now that the backstory is out of the way. I called Rob’s Dogs in the hope that their board and train would be the answer. Within an hour of submitting the request to contact, I had a phone call and an appointment for an evaluation. Once there, Steele was his normal self with the growling and, overall attitude of “I am going to eat you now”. I thought they were going to tell me, “It is hopeless, just keep him inside”. But to my surprise, I was told there are no bad dogs and we can help him. My wife and I figured what do we have to lose. We dropped off Steele over a week where we were going out of town. I was terrified to drop him off, but, again, the folks at Rob’s Dogs made me feel so comfortable. I took a few deep breaths and walked out, leaving my Steele in their hands. Over the next days, I received amazing updates and videos of his progress. After watching them, I was pretty sure the only logical explanation was that they swapped my dog for a different, yet identical, dog, as if we were in some Freaky Friday movie. There was no way this dog on this video was Steele. There was no way a dog who would go for a dog 15 feet away is just walking past other dogs as if they were not there. When I arrived at Rob’s Dogs to pick up Steele, I was again, terrified. I thought the training is amazing, but now that he is back in protective mode, it will all go out the window. But, again, to my surprise, he was a new and improved Steele. I had the pleasure of having Mike as the trainer. I am pretty sure Mike is from some mystical place where people can speak with dogs. There really is no other logical explanation as to how he was able to transform Steele into a dog that is obedient, listens, and is not in full protective mode all the time. He took the time to explain everything to me, and, to train me. As part of this great training program, the owner is not left to just “figure it out”. I was with Mike for hours. We went through practice and practice. I learned what I needed to do to keep Steele new and improved. As we are approaching 5 days at home, I can assure anyone that it is not a party trick. It is not just while the dog is at the facility. The results are continuing. Steele is just as good with me on a walk around our neighborhood as he was when I was with Mike at the park. And, the best part is if I start to feel like I need some help, they are only a call or visit away. Rob’s Dogs is not just a turn and burn organization. They are committed to the dog’s progress forever. But let’s get serious now. I wish I could write something that would convince every dog owner to go to Rob’s Dogs. I wish I could write something where Mike would be crowned the Emperor of Dog Whispering. But I can only tell anyone who reads this to trust Rob’s Dogs and trust the process. The trainers are caring and really love dogs. The staff (everyone) is empathetic and will understand the angst that an owner will feel. I am so thankful to Mike and all of Rob’s Dogs for giving Steele a second chance at being a great dog and showing everyone what a giant baby he is.

We had fantastic experience with Zakita for our dog Lulu. She was struggling with pulling on the leash and having anxiety attacks but with Zakita was so patient and she communicated clearly and taught us techniques we could use at home. We’ve seen a lot of improvement in Lulu’s behavior and very much confident in handling her. We highly recommend Rob’s Training Facility and would definitely use their services again with our other dog.
