Rising Starr K9 Dog Training

My puppy and I completed the puppy, intermediate, and CGC classes with Rick and Joann, and I highly recommend any of their courses! Rick has a great balance of gentle firmness and took the time to coach me on how to work most effectively with my dog. I especially appreciated the small class sizes (4–6 dogs), which created a supportive environment and allowed me to learn not only from my own coaching, but from watching him guide others as well. He also helped me navigate some of my basset hound mix’s stubborn tendencies with practical, encouraging strategies. We had such a positive experience!

We were so happy with the board-and-train program our dog Finn completed with Rick and Joane. Finn has come such a long way, and we couldn’t be happier with the progress he made and everything he learned during his time there. When we went back for transition sessions, it was amazing to see how excited Finn was to see Rick and how comfortable and confident he was around him. That really showed us how positive the experience was for Finn. Rick did a great job not only training Finn, but also teaching us how to continue reinforcing the training at home. He made sure we understood what to do and felt confident moving forward. We’re incredibly grateful for the experience and can’t wait to see how Finn continues to grow as he gets older.

We’ve been working with Rick at Rising Star K9 since November and have completed both the puppy and intermediate classes with our two pups. The knowledge and guidance we’ve gained has truly set our dogs up to thrive. The training is practical, positive, and easy to implement at home. We’ve seen so much growth in both of our dogs and honestly in ourselves as dog owners too! We’re so grateful for the support and highly recommend to anyone looking to build a strong foundation with their dog.

I have really enjoyed my experience with training my dog with Rising Star K9! My dog is 9 and at first I was just going to get help with walking her with other dogs. She did really well and I have continued to take classes. I appreciate the way that Rick gives feedback and is encouraging. It takes work and time to train a dog but if you are committed, Rising Star K9 is too. My girl is learning how to stay in one place when the doorbell rings or Amazon delivers something. Each week she is getting better and she is loving the new challenges that Rising Star K9 introduces each week. I highly recommend Rising Star K9 no matter how old or young your dog is.

I highly recommend Rising Starr K9 dog training! I have a two year old Lab who pulled constantly on walks, and I finally decided to try dog training. I found Rising Starr K9 online, and it had great reviews! I decided to try it, so I signed up on their website. Rick reached out to me prior to the meeting to get a background on my dog. My main goal was leash walking because I take him on a walk everyday, and recently got a Rottweiler puppy, so the leash pulling needed to stop. After just two one on one classes, Rick helped and gave me the tools I needed to make walks more enjoyable. I then decided to bring the Rottweiler puppy for some one on one training. I brought Ollie when he was about 4 months old. Rick has been very helpful and knowledgeable helping me build a strong foundation for Ollie. We then continued on to puppy class, which was even more helpful with training bringing distractions into a more structured environment. He recently graduated puppy class, and we are going to continue on to intermediate class. The 50-60 minute drive is worth it 100%. As long as you come into training willing to listen and do the work outside of class as well, it will be beneficial for your dog and you. Rick was also very helpful working with me and my schedule. I’m really glad that I found Rising Starr K9. It had been great working with them, and I look forward to future classes!
