Rising Starr K9 Dog Training

I researched many people and places for training in the La Crosse and surrounding areas before I settled on Rising Starr K9. I’ve had dogs growing up but only just rescued the first dog of my own a few months ago. I had planned on getting a dog already past the puppy stage that was preferably potty and crate trained. The universe had other plans for me, though, and my wife and I ended up with a 3 month old beautiful puppy. As excited as we were, I definitely felt like we might be in over our heads. We also were very adamant that we didn’t want to be “those people” with an unruly dog who didn’t listen and bothered everyone. Long story long, we signed him up for group classes right away. Unfortunately, the class wasn’t meant to start for weeks and then as it got closer, the class got pushed back even more due to unforeseen circumstances. At that point, we were having issues with leash walking, jumping, and some normal puppy behaviors that we wanted to nip in the bud before they got out of hand. He also was getting into everything. That’s when I started searching the internet and calling everyone under the sun for individual 1:1 sessions. I came across Rick and Rising Starr K9 and decided to give it a shot. It was great! So great that I ended up canceling the group sessions all together. Rick was so knowledgeable, patient and incredibly helpful. I was pretty nervous at the first session, but within minutes, I felt comfortable and like he could definitely help us. We’ve been working with Rick now for something like 3 sessions, and it has been one of the best things we have done for our pup thus far. We’ve had some difficulty with being able to make as many sessions as we’d like but he is always flexible and accommodating. It’s also obvious that he genuinely cares about our dog and our progress. We are so grateful that we found Mr. Pedersen and his services and would recommend him to anyone. Working with Rick was great for both my myself and my puppy, Gemma. He's friendly, easy to talk to, and shows a genuine care for all the dogs he meets. I met Rick thru a different program and decided it was best to continue thru him personally so that Gemma and I could get the one on one training we needed. It was nice to have him train me on how to train my dog so that I could go with the confidence to do it on my own, once sessions were over. He has even reached out a couple times since training to see how things are going and ask about Gemma. All around a great guy and a great experience!
