It is imperative for puppies to receive proper foundation training. This is particularly important during the critical period which occurs from birth to 16 weeks. During this time puppies should be exposed to as much of the world as possible. Although we understand that they are still very immature and not capable of advanced behaviors it is during this time that puppies can be taught how to learn. Once they understand this process, using a marker based system, they can easily learn throughout their life!

Training starts immediately upon arrival for a board and train. Dogs will be taught a marker based system of learning. They will be taken out in the community several days a week and during this time they will be required to be neutral to their environment. Throughout training, we will continue to add in distance, duration and distraction to proof all commands and ensure a calm state of mind. We do not believe in one standard training method for all dogs. We will work with owners to build a program to meet the specific needs of their dog and family. We make ourselves available throughout training to answer any questions and alleviate any concerns. My wife and I were having some behavioral issues with one of our doggies, so we asked around for good dog trainers. Everyone pointed us towards Ridgeville K9 because of their great professional trainers. And it did not disappoint! They truly have the best trainers. We worked with Cori, and she was so helpful and knowledgeable. She trainer our dog so well! And she gave us so many good lessons during our final go-home training. We will definitely be going back to her if we need more training!

We did a 3-week board and train with Cori for our ~1-year-old rescue dog, Frankie. Frankie was struggling immensely with leash reactivity, especially around other dogs.
When we got Frankie back, it was like she was a completely new dog. She kept her same sweet personality, but her reactivity is so much better — she's completely manageable now. We truly feel like Cori gave her a new lease on life. We finally feel comfortable and confident that Frankie has learned the tools to manage her emotions around other dogs while on leash.
Throughout the entire process, Cori was incredibly responsive and provided wonderful, honest updates on Frankie's activities and progress. We met at the halfway mark so Cori could train us on everything Frankie had been learning. Cori also invited us to join a group training class with Frankie — being able to see her use all of her new skills in an environment with other dogs, when just two weeks earlier she couldn't even see a dog without losing her marbles, was incredibly rewarding and really confirmed that we made the right choice in choosing Ridgeside K9 for our training.
Cori is truly one of a kind — an exceptional trainer and a genuinely wonderful person who clearly pours her heart into every dog she works with. We feel so incredibly lucky that Frankie ended up in her hands. Our dog was super reactive to people, dogs and was pulling on his leash where he we couldn’t even take him outside without anyone around. He is a completely different dog in the best way possible. Jeff truly was a godsend. He sent us daily pictures and videos of his progress and answered any and all questions we had. Tara the owner was also super helpful with setting up his training. I can’t recommend Ridgeside enough!

Cori was an amazing trainer for Ruby! She communicated with us daily with photos and videos of what they were working on each day. She made sure to answer all our many questions and helped to make Ruby’s transition back home a smooth one and helped set us up for success! Will definitely use Cori and Ridgeside K9 again.
