Jeff was fantastic with our shy pup. He kept us informed daily the whole duration for the training and we felt like we knew how our dog was progressing or if having challenges. After two weeks we got our dog back and he explained everything to ensure we understood the what, why and how of it all. We got to practice the new skills which was great! The best part is if we ever have questions or need help, Jeff will be there to support . Our dog is more confident, we are more confident in continuing the training and therefore I would not hesitate to send my dog to Jeff. He really took care of our family member as we would have, and can’t thank him enough!

Jeff is the best trainer! Sent my sweet schnauzer there while I travelled to be boarded and trained (he had already trained my other schnauzer in VA and literally saved his life! He was reactive and had bitten everyone but me in my house and I now have control of him!). I got back a dog with great recall and easy leash walking and more confidence! Now my dogs can go in the yard and romp and play with no leash and they come back when called and are easy to travel with and go camping with! No more running out of the door when it’s open, I can’t recommend this place enough! Takes the stress out of being a dog owner when you have control of your dogs ❤️ I got daily updates with pictures and knew they were in good hands and having fun!

My 2 yr old cavapoo pup Oakly has always had fear towards strangers ever since I got him at 5 months old. This fear grew into aggressive barking at people when they would come over and it caused a lot of stress in the household. Jeff came at a convenient day and time for us to meet Oakly and see what would be needed and the training that would be provided to him and us. We decided that doing the 2 week board and train was a good idea so that way the behavior doesn’t get worse and Oakly, along with us, can have people come over without a huge fuss. Jeff sent me updates with photos and videos every day which was great. I was nervous at first because he’s my baby, but I knew he was in great hands. Jeff really cares for the dogs and wants them to have a happy and healthy life. He answered any and all of our questions, he quick with responding to texts and calls. Oakly came home and he is more obedient and ready to listen and learn. He was able to take treats from a family friends hand and be more relaxed and not bark like he did before. We still have some work to do and to maintain, but like Jeff always says “crawl, walk, run”. I am very grateful for the Ridgeside K9 team for caring for my boy and getting us to this point. Plus, they will continue to help us throughout the rest of Oakly’s life. They don’t just dump them back and leave for good. They are there to stick around and help you and your pup or pups. If you are considering training for your dog, i’d suggest you talk to them!

My husband and I have a 4 year old miniature schnauzer named Cash. After several training sessions with other dog trainers, Cash still pulled on the lease while walking, he lunged and barked at other dogs and overall lacked confidence. We decided to give training one last chance before giving up and hired Jeff, with Ridgeside K9. My husband and I were very hesitant to let Jeff take Cash away for three weeks. We were afraid that Cash wouldn’t adapt with a stranger and would be aggressive toward him. However, when Jeff met Cash for the first time at our home, before training even started, Cash immediately loved him. He played with Cash and Cash seemed to be very comfortable with him. I think Jeff is a dog whisperer, because Cash usually continuously barks at someone new until they leave our home. Instead of barking, he cuddled and played with Jeff. So, when Jeff came back and took our dog, Cash happily left. A typical day with Ridgeside K9 training would include Jeff sending us pictures and videos of Cashes training and progress. He took Cash out to stores and parks, things I’ve been hesitant to do because Cash usually makes a scene. However, when Cash was with Jeff about town he was quiet and seemed very confident. Jeff was his leader and while out, Cash was on his best behavior. He let people pet him and he didn’t lunge or continuously barks at people around him. I was very pleased to see how quickly Cash progressed over three weeks. When Jeff delivered Cash back to us, he sat us down and taught us how he trained Cash and how we should train a Cash going forward. After three weeks of training with Jeff, I can confidently say that Cash is more confident than he left. He doesn’t bark as much, and we have structure set in place to correct any future behavior that we don’t want him to exhibit. I’m happy that we decided to hire Jeff. In our experience, Jeff is both professional and very kind and we believe his ‘crawl, walk, run’ approach helped our pup. Do not hesitate to hire Jeff. You won’t regret it.
