My dog, Knox, recently completed Ridgeside K9’s 6-week board-and-train program, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision. I genuinely don’t think he could have received better training anywhere else. Erica was Knox’s primary trainer, and she did an incredible job. She kept us updated every week with videos showing his progress, which gave us more confidence with how to handle him when he returned. Erica had such a positive attitude every time we saw her, we can’t recommend her enough! What really sets Ridgeside K9 apart is their commitment to quality and teamwork. The trainers works together to ensure each dog leaves meeting their exceptionally high standards. In fact, Knox was kept for an additional week—at no extra cost—because they didn’t feel he was quite ready at the six-week mark. That level of integrity speaks volumes about how much they care about the dogs they train. When Knox came home, the improvement was immediate. His leash manners were dramatically better, and walking him became an entirely different experience. He still had one issue to work through—reactivity toward other dogs on walks—but after a few follow-up sessions with Mike and Erica, that problem was completely resolved. I stress that these follow-up sessions, along with consistently reinforcing the training at home, are critical in ensuring your dog’s long term success. You don’t stop being a parent when you pick your kid up from school, do you? Something else that impressed me is that their commitment doesn’t end when your dog goes home. Mike even accompanied me to Knox’s vet appointment to help handle him because Knox has always been anxious at the vet and had previously bitten veterinarians. That wasn’t something Mike had to do, but it demonstrates how invested they are in each dog’s long-term success. Knowing we can continue to reach out with questions or concerns has been incredibly valuable. If you’re considering professional training for your dog, I can’t recommend Ridgeside K9 enough. They truly care about the dogs they train, stand behind their work, and go above and beyond to ensure both you and your dog succeed.
