Ridgeside K9 Central Florida

Ridgeside K9 is the best. Our golden retriever, Petunia, was paired with Kendall as her trainer. Kendall is loving, caring and extremely knowledgeable. Petunia, my wife and I have been blessed to have Kendall and the Ridgeside K9 family become part of our extended family. Petunia would get extremely excited at the sight of Kendall. Our drive to Ridgeside was roughly a 50 minute drive. We would have gladly driven twice the distance for the knowledge and care we received. Petunia graduated today and it is bittersweet. We have a great pup that, along with my wife and me, has learned great lessons yet we will miss our time with Kendall and the Ridgeside K9 family. We are confident in taking Petunia with us and knowing we have the training for appropriate behavior. I also have great admiration for Jay. We were blessed to have observed his training oversight for the Marion County K9 units. Everybody that we met at Ridgeside K9 was knowledgeable , friendly and down to earth. I highly recommend the services offered by Ridgeside K9. I know that we will be taking advantage of their offer to board Petunia when we travel.

I cannot say enough amazing things about this facility, the owners and trainers. We recently got a doodle baby. Because of our already crazy lives with 3 kids in travel sports, we decided to invest in professional board and train. Best investment hands down. When we dropped Bentley off for his 4 week program he was sweet and loving but also brought the stress of puppy behavior, running off, not coming when called, chewing on any and everything. We discussed with Nikki our realistic goals of basic obedience while she explained their main goal is livability where the dog knows his/her expectations and adds value not stress. They kept me updating throughout his time there, sending text and video updates so we could watch his progress. After 4 weeks, when we picked up Bentley it was clear they truly knew what they were doing. I was worried he would lose the loving cuddly part of him and be like robot dog lol but he was the same loving cuddly guy but now was equipped with the skills to make our life and his life easier. We can now take him on walks around the neighborhood confidently without even putting him on a leash, he knows when and where he can zoom away and be his crazy puppy self but also knows when it’s time to just relax and be calm. It’s very obvious how much passion this facility has, from the first phone call to passing along the training to us as puppy owners to continuing the relationship in the future. This past weekend we dropped Bentley back off just to be boarded while we were out of town, seeing how excited and crazy he went the minute he saw his trainer Taylor proved to me exactly what I already knew, they truly love the dogs in their care and have a special bond. It’s a win/win for us because we know he will be taken care of and loved while we are out of town but they’ll also continue with his training and building upon his existing foundation. 10/10 would highly recommend this facility for anyone looking for puppy/dog training. We are so grateful to have found them and for them to continue being a part of Bentleys life moving forward.

I have been struggling with reactivity in my 6 year old Aussie for many years. I had my vet even tell me that Murphy would be a dog I could never just take out to even be on a leash around other dogs. We tried everything including medications but nothing has worked. I could not take him on walks because he was so reactive it would terrify anyone passing by. Today we spent an hour and a half with Jay at Ridgeside K9, and within 30 minutes of our time with him, he had my dog walking alongside another dog. He exposed our dog to 3 different dogs and various people in that time and had his behavior under control (even with me holding the leash). He sent me home with tools to use and some “homework”. We will still go back for additional time with him but will not need the extensive expense and time of additional “training”. What I especially loved, is that when I inquired about their board and train, Jay said he would rather do an evaluation and see if that was even needed because he didn’t believe it would be. I appreciate his honesty and integrity. I spent a lot of money in the past on basic and advanced obedience classes with other trainers and while my dog knows all the tricks, and I could even get him to stay in a down position as people/dogs walked by, he would still bark loudly and aggressively. Jay got to the root of the issue and helped us understand why our dog was behaving this way. I look forward to applying what we’ve learned (we have already seen a difference) and spending more time with Ridgeside K9 working out the kinks. I cannot say enough about Ridgeside K9. Don’t even think of taking your dog anywhere else!!!

My puppy was very hyper and wouldn't obey simple commands. Biting was our main issue. The trainers at Ridgeside K9 Central Florida (especially Kendall) understood what our concerns were and had all the patience to help not just our puppy,Luna, but my husband and myself. We left a out of control white shepherd and came back to a sweet girl. Of course she's a work in progress but the potential is there now. We wouldn't have been able to handle her without their help. I feel confident if I am unsure of how to handle a situation I can call and the trainers will help me.

I cannot say enough about the Ridge side K9 group. I was very excited to find somebody that was more appropriately priced than a lot of the other places that I checked out and that it was local that was more important to me than anything. I can't believe the accomplishments they made in two weeks of a bourd and train program. If you need training for your puppy just to get that foundation so you can build upon it this is the group I have an experienced yet you're extended programs but I plan on it because of what I saw after 2 weeks. I cannot thank you all enough y'all are fabulous and we will be seeing each other more.
