I can’t say enough good things about Misti and everything she has helped me accomplish with Sage. I had just recently put down my first dog, a chill and lovable pittie who never really required much training (or so I thought). After her, we rescued Sage, a one-year-old Doberman—and talk about going from 0 to 100. Unfortunately, Sage hadn’t had any consistency in her upbringing. Her previous owner either kept her crated most of the time or let her do whatever she wanted. She constantly tested boundaries, and with me working night shifts, I was stressed and losing sleep. A coworker recommended Misti, and I am so thankful he did. When we first started training, Sage showed her dominance toward me. Anytime I tried to set boundaries, she would nip, bark, hump me, and push back hard. Misti and I worried about her becoming more aggressive if we tried to correct her at home. Fast forward to Sage’s most recent session, and the difference is unbelievable. When we practiced boundaries again, Sage backed off with no sass—and even laid down calmly. Walks used to be another nightmare. In the beginning, Sage was definitely walking me. I dreaded them because I had no control, even though I knew she needed the exercise. Now? We’re going to parks, and she heels about 90% of the time. We’re still working toward 100%, but the progress already feels like such a blessing. The crate was by far our biggest challenge. At first, it was “the evil thing” to Sage. She barked, scratched, and bit at it—even when we were home. We felt awful seeing her so stressed. Crate training was tough, but Misti never gave up. Thanks to her persistence, Sage now stays in her crate for two and a half hours with no barking! One of the things I love most about working with Misti is her ongoing support. You can always text or email her with questions, and she sends homework after each session (which I especially appreciate with my night-shift brain). She doesn’t just correct the dog—she also shows you what you can do better. On top of that, she’s honest, fair, and never oversells. I truly appreciated that she didn’t try to push extra sessions we didn’t need. If you’re looking for a trainer, I 100% recommend Misti. She’s made an incredible difference for both me and Sage.
