Kim is absolutely amazing! She truly takes the time to understand your family’s needs while also providing the basic training your dog needs to be successful. One of our biggest concerns was our puppy jumping, especially because our kids were nervous and scared when it happened. Kim didn’t just work with our dogs—she worked with our entire family, including the kids, so that everyone felt more comfortable and confident around our new puppy. That made such a huge difference for us! I would absolutely recommend Kim to anyone looking for a knowledgeable, patient, and personalized dog trainer. I love that she comes to you and works with your dog in the environment where you actually live and need the training to work. Kim also hosts dog parties to help support dogs and families in other areas of training, which I think is such a wonderful bonus. If you’re looking for someone who genuinely cares about both your dog and your family, I highly recommend Kim!

We started working with Kim from Quality Canines by Kim when our Shepherd-Husky mix, Marley, was about four months old, and it was one of the best decisions we made! We signed up for Kim’s six-week training program, and from the very first in-home visit, it was clear that she wasn’t just training Marley—she was training all of us. She worked with our entire family, including our two kids, and taught us how to set clear expectations, hold Marley accountable, and be consistent with our follow-through. Over the six weeks, we worked on everything from obedience, recall, sit/stay, and down/stay to jumping, counter surfing, “leave it,” long-leash walking, “sit for people,” and so much more. Kim even taught us how to train Marley to ring a bell when she needs to go outside—which has definitely come in handy! We also continue to attend Kim’s puppy parties, which have been a great opportunity for Marley to safely socialize with other dogs while also giving us a chance to be part of a wonderful community of dog owners who genuinely show up for and support one another. What really sets Kim apart is her ability to problem-solve and adapt the training to the dog and the family. She is incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and responsive when questions come up. You can tell she genuinely cares about the dogs she works with and the families who love them. Marley has come such a long way, and we feel so much more confident in how to continue working with her as she grows into the big, high-energy dog we knew she would be. We are so grateful for Miss Kim (or “Auntie Kim,” as Marley calls her!) and would absolutely recommend Quality Canines by Kim!

I cannot rave enough about Kim and how fantastic she is! We reached out to Kim back in March to start training our then 6 month old puppy - and it was the best thing we ever did! From basic commands to off leash recall and socialization, our little guy gained so much confidence over the few months we worked together! She absolutely loves what she does and it is shown through her training. We couldn’t have asked for a better trainer and person to work with.

We could not be happier with Kim and her training methods. She is calm, clear, and fun. Quality Canines uses a curriculum with hand signals and commands that Kim presents and reinforces at each lesson. Kim will also adapt the lessons based on needs. She will adapt voice commands, emphasizing that consistency in the commands is key so the pup can understand what is expected. Kim is firm but gentle when called for, and keeps corrections very simple so Kiwi can quickly understand what is expected of her. Kim also explains dog/pup logic so we have a better understanding of Kiwi and why dogs do some of the things they do. Kim quickly responds to concerns and questions and helps subdue worry with logic and good practice. She always offers encouragement as well as a solution. Kim wants the very best for us and our rescue pup and with her concise, clear instruction, we quickly learned how to continue the good lessons so Kiwi can be the best pup. With Kim, it is about fun with manners, helping Kiwi to become a well-behaved, but happy dog. Kim is a wonderful human who really knows her stuff....and she just happens to speak puppy very well! Kim had been an amazing resource for our family! From the minute she met our 4 month old labradoodle/terrier/cur rescue, Winnie, we were shocked by how quickly her methods and techniques worked! Literally within minutes of our first meeting! We wanted help to approach typical puppy behaviors in the right way and set us up for lifelong success with our new pup, she was awesome to work with. Kim quickly started the process, worked around our schedule and maintained a high level of communication to ensure she was helping to address what we needed most on any given session. Throughout the process she was quick and thorough in her text responses to questions we had between sessions as well, no question felt too silly to ask her. She was kind and respectful to our family, home and met our specific needs with another senior dog at home as well. We would HIGHLY recommend Kim! We have peace of mind knowing she sticks with you even after the training is done and offers many opportunities for training and socialization even when our scheduled sessions ended.
