Thank you for sharing your feedback. I understand your disappointment with your experience in our class.<br><br>As you noted, Spud displayed significant anxiety and aggression towards other puppies. Our primary concern is the safety of all dogs in our classes. Due to Spud's consistent barking, lunging, growling, and snapping at other puppies—even through a safety gate—it was not safe to allow him direct interaction with the group. We created a secure play area next to the other puppies to allow for some proximity, but his reactions remained consistent. I understand how stressful that was for you; no one wants their puppy to experience this level of stress around other dogs and people.<br><br>The suggestion to use a lick mat or chewy was intended to help manage Spud's barking and reduce his stress levels in a group setting, not to reward the behavior. The only other option was to dismiss him from the class, but I had hoped that he would acclimate to the environment and be able to make progress in reducing his anxiety. We saw him make some progress when we gave him additional distance to others, but four weeks of class was not enough to safely integrate him with other young puppies who were also being socialized and needed to learn that other dogs are safe.<br><br>Our group classes are designed to be an economical option for many owners, covering a broad range of training topics with a ratio of two trainers for eight puppies. This structure allows us to support all participants, but it does not permit one-on-one attention for a single dog throughout the entire class.<br><br>For dogs with anxiety or aggression, private training sessions often provide a more effective and tailored approach.
