My dog barks at everything. Can training help?
Yes! Excessive barking is often rooted in anxiety, not attitude. Our programs focus on building calm, confident behavior at the root—not just stopping the symptom.
Boarding and Daycare drop-off is from 7–8 AM, and pick-up is from 4–6 PM. These times help us maintain a consistent routine for the dogs in our care.
Our training pickup is scheduled into one of our training session windows so we can take the time to go over everything you need to be successful at home.
Do you offer boarding or daycare without doing training first?
Yes, we offer boarding and daycare for well-mannered dogs. We do not take on dogs who are dangerous at this time. Safety and structure are our top priorities.
Can you provide medication if my dog stays with you?
Of course! We have been professionally taking care of dogs for 17yrs, and have experience in the following:
-Geriatric and hospice care
-Care of disabled dogs
-Oral and topical meds
-Injections
-Restraint holds
-Nutrition
Yes! All interactions are carefully supervised, and new dogs are introduced slowly to the group. Groups are arranged by size, age, temperament, and play style. We only allow socialization with dogs that are a good match in temperament and energy. We do not take on aggressive dogs at this time into our groups.
Yes! We work with the entire family, including the kids. We want everyone to be on the same page, and really work hard to get the young ones involved with responsibility/chores, as well as the fun activities with the dog. They are a part of your family too, after all!
Definitely. Whether your dog pulls, lunges, or gets over-excited on walks, we’ll work on calm leash walking using proven, real-life training strategies around distractions.

Absolutely. We specialize in helping families with young children and dogs create safe, respectful relationships. We even offer training geared toward family routines and transitions like bringing home a new baby.

Yes! During training, you will get real-time footage of our training lessons so you can see your dog's progress.
We regularly post on social media pictures and videos of the dogs we are working with.
We even send cute pictures and videos to the owners while their dogs are staying with us!
How far in advance do I need to book for boarding?
We have very limited space for our daycare and boarding services. We typically book out a few weeks in advance, especially during holidays or summer. Early booking ensures your spot and gives us time to prep for your dog’s stay.
Our Board & Train program includes personalized obedience training, daily structured exercise, socialization with other dogs, and real-world outings in Southern Utah. We focus on behavior transformation, not just commands. You’ll also receive go-home lessons and continued support.

Three years ago I became a puppy mom but before that I had seen a lot of Facebook posts about Heather being a dog whisperer. When I got my puppy and was having trouble, she was the first person I reached out for help. Not long after I got my first pup, my family decided to add 2 more. So here I was a mom to 3 pups and my family looking to me to get them trained. I again turned to Heather but this time to do board and training. I sent my first pup who has anxiety first, then my other two. All pups had a great time while board with Project k9. Heather introduced us to the e-collar and got training started. She has been a wealth of knowledge. She has introduced me to products that are truly helping with anxiety for Rocket. I highly recommend her to anyone wanting help with their dogs. She knows what she is doing!

We first met Heather when I was looking for training for our then strong willed 6 month old white lab; Pearl. Pearl and I would go weekly for hands on training (for the both of us). In the first lesson Heather had Pearl paying attention (no more "squirrel") and walking nicely on her leash...that alone was so amazing.. but it continued and each week we learned more and more. Over the last year Pearl has been in Board & Train, just Board, and Daycare and each and every time we know she is loved, well taken care of, and frankly living her best life. Sometimes I take her to daycare just to allow her appropriate dog socialization and play. When we start planning a vacation the first call I make is to Heather to make sure she's available; if she's not, we change vacation dates. If I ever have questions Canine in nature Heather is my go to.... she is so, so knowledgeable and really goes out of her way to help. Pearl is our baby and I will only do what is best for her. When I say "hey, you wanna go see Heather and your friends?" her little head tilts to the side and she wags that big ol tail happy as can be. Do not hesitate booking with Project K9... you and your four legged family member will absolutely love Heather, we sure do.

My cute Aussie puppy Ava loves going to see Heather and her dogs at the project k-9. I love that she reinforces training and appropriate play behavior when Ava is there for daycare or boarding. She comes home happy, tired and well behaved!!

We left our golden doodle for an overnite stay with Project K9, and he had SO MUCH fun and it was very good experience for him. We are very protective of our doodle, but Project K9 did a great job and I highly recommend.
