Once my German shepherd got closer to a year old, she started to develop leash reactivity so badly that we could no longer go on walks. She would react to people, dogs, really anything that moved. I was embarrassed to leave the house with her and had to restructure the way I do just about everything in my life to avoid her reactions. After trying to address the issue with several other trainers, I reached out to Javier who kindly outlined his training approach for me and gave me the confidence to try again. I started my training sessions with Javier and continued to work with Briana, who proved to be extremely patient and helped us push past our limits. I’m proud to say that I went on my first pack walk with my dog today and can’t believe how well she did! We couldn’t have made this progress without Briana and Javier and I’m so excited that we can finally take our lives back! Thank you!

Javier is great! Our dog, Bourbon, is a German shepherd/Dutch shepherd mix who had some behavioral issues. He is not very trusting of strangers and is very protective over the people in his house. He also had some issues with standard obedience training. When we sent him to training he had just turned two years old. After three weeks with Javier and his team he is still not perfect around new people but we have the tools to be able to control him so he won't lose his mind. At the end of the day dogs are animals and it wouldn't be reasonable to expect a dog's entire personality to change from a few weeks with a trainer but our relationship with him has gotten much better. Javier helped us bridge the gap between what we want and Bourbon understanding what we want and gave us the tools to enforce it. Now we are able to better communicate and see what Bourbon needs and because we are better able to take care of his needs, he is better around the house and does what we want him to do. 10/10 place and if I have any future dogs I will call Proactive earlier on in their life to get them into training. 100% worth it and Javier is great and loves what he does. This isn't a big chain business with a lot of locations and he will talk about dogs he's trained in the past. They really are passionate about what they do and it shows in their work.

Javier and his team were amazing! They had great communication and were really flexible with me and my husband's scheduling. I loved their daily update videos and that they invited the owners to tag along in the second and third week. They're an extremely knowledgeable team who knew exactly how to help our dog. Our german/dutch shepherd came back much more confident and obedient. I highly recommend them!

Proactive Taking into account sheer number of positive reviews regarding this business, there arent many bases that haven’t been covered. However, considering the in-depth perspective ive garnered over dozens and dozens of interactions with this company and the dynamic team that keeps the gears turning, i would love to throw a few more accolades into the mix! Javier runs a tight ship. He’s also easy to work with, as is the whole staff. The team’s collective passion and dedication to their craft is unparalleled. It’s obvious that they enjoy what they do. Rest assured, the pooches are treated with the loving hand and compassion they deserve. These are all things to be proud of. But, to me, the thing that I feel MOST distinguishes this business are the sparkling clean facilities. It’s no secret that man’s best friend requires constant picking up after. For a facility with a large number of animals, things can spiral quickly if left unchecked. In addition to doing all the regular cleaning maintenance that would be expected, Proactive goes above and beyond to keep things looking crispy clean… They have hired me every week for almost the last year to come pressure wash the outdoor kennel areas. Doing this extra maintenance regularly keeps the kennel areas sanitary and sparkling for your beloved pooch to frolic and play in! Bottom line, if you’re looking for a cleaner facility with top-tier talent that will treat your furry friend(s) with the care and love they deserve, look no further.
