Proactive Dog Training, LLC

We used Proactive Dog Training for our 5 month old silver lab puppy Toby. We signed up for the 3 week off leash package. Toby stayed about 4 weeks to meet the high standards of Javier and his team at no extra charge to us. A little about Toby-he was an impulse addition to the family and we have two toddlers. Toby loves the kids but needed some help (ok, a lot) during walks and being calm in the house. The transformation has been amazing and a relief to say the least. Javier is extremely responsive to all questions and accommodated our schedule to arrange meetings for practice while Toby was in training. He also posts daily videos to Youtube of training sessions. It was hard to let Toby go to training but it became clear Javier created a bond with Toby and has a passion for animals which eased any concerns we initially had. I want to reiterate that even after we have had Toby at home and paid for the service, Javier still responds to our calls, emails and texts within an hour (texts within minutes) and sets up appointments within days if needed.

My dog Bella had really bad leash reactivity, I could barely take her on walks. I had two other trainers before I found proactive dog training by chance and set up a phone consult with Javier. From the minute I starting speaking with Javier he was very professional and understanding, he made me feel really comfortable. I am SO happy I found Javier, Joseph and the proactive team. They worked with my schedule, were always available by email and phone, and I loved the videos they posted daily of Bella. The whole experience was amazing and I would recommend them to anyone who is having issues with the dogs. Walking Bella used to give me so much anxiety and now I am able to walk her multiple times a day with the confidence the proactive dog trainers have taught me.

Javier, Joseph and Ashley do not just train your dog, they connect and learn his individual needs and personality to nurture his soul! Amazing results as they included me in trainings during weeks 2 and 3. They set clear expectations and empowered me to guide Tonka in short sessions so by the time Tonka came home we were both comfortable with the new rules and expectations. So very blessed to now be able to take Tonka anywhere in my community! I loved seeing the videos posted each day !

My husband and I couldn’t be more pleased with the training results from Javier and his team. Louie, our 9mo schnoodle came home a different dog in a good way! He’s so much more calm and he listens!! I didn’t think it was possible...It’s wonderful to be able to take Louie to parks, public places and really even our yard now and him not act like a maniac! PDT was amazing at communication and sending videos during Louie’s stay. You can tell it’s not just a job for them, it’s their passion. Would definitely use this team again. Thank you guys! Where do I even begin? Our German Shepherd was being trained for several months prior to meeting Javier and his team. Our dog Blue was being trained by the best in town or so we were told. Little did we know she was being trained to be a high energy/drive working dog. Every day for months we would train her to basically hype her up even more. Causing so many issues with our home life and making it impossible to have her indoors. When she was inside she wouldn't calm down, she would pace and not listen. You could not even pet her without her getting so excited, she would tear up toys and even bolt out of the house. We couldn't put her on a leash, My husband would literally have to pick her up in order for us to take her places and then the fun nibbling and putting your hand in her mouth (we were told this what just what GSD's do and that we would have to live with it) Not ideal when you have little ones. Long story short everything you didnt want in a dog, she had. She checked all the boxes for bad dog of the year award. We sent her to Javier for 2 weeks and it was like we received a different dog. One, that at first we expected to put on medication to dull her down to one that cuddles my babies and listens. She is so much calmer and in general she seems like she enjoys life more. We are able to allow her to roam the house at night and trust her to even being able to TAKE HER IN PUBLIC! It's sad to think we almost gave up on her before we sent her to training. I cant even begin to explain how thankful I am for Javier and his team. They have given my dog a new life! This is just the tip of what Proactive Dog Training has offered us, not to mention the amazing support we have received after she came home!
