I love how matter of fact Dave is when it comes to dog training. His method does not rely on constantly bribing dogs with treats to get them doing what they're expected to do. He connects the expectation with a clear command and gently redirects when not followed. Somehow our 6-month-old Doberman didn't seem to need any redirection from him. She just did but was expected of her right away. How he did that? I have no idea LOL. Similarly, he has the magic touch when it comes to nail trimming. I cannot even touch one of my other dog's paws, but Dave can trim his nails without flinching. The most fun is to watch Dave, the police stud, cheering like a little girl when praising good behavior. 😀 The most important thing to remember is that the training is usually for the owners. So for that and how I've seen our (and other) dogs respond to him, I highly recommend him as a trainer.

I highly recommend Dave! I adopted Ellie, a GSD, for my husband last year, as a surprise birthday gift. She was 7 months old at the time and full of energy. We were told she was homeless and only lived in a foster home for a couple of weeks. After my husband passed in January, I needed someone who was an experienced dog trainer that would be able to train Ellie and me. She had many issues. A friend of mine used Dave, a retired K9 State Trooper, to train her dog and recommended him. Dave, came to my home for a consultation and spent an hour with me to go over her issues. He put a plan together and we went to work. Dave offers several training options. I chose 1:1 for 8 weeks. We just finished training and Ellie is a new dog, a happy dog. She walks off leash and has total recall. If you are looking someone that is a professional trainer, Dave is your guy. He has a great personality, and he loves dogs. I’m thankful for his talent!

Our family has worked with Dave over the past month with our dog Mya (chocolate lab) who pulled on walks, was reactive with other dogs, and was driving us crazy. Our initial consult was amazing. Within a short amount of time, Mya not only was following his direction but his lead even when seeing another dog on a walk. Our experience with Dave has been not just professional but informative, respectful of our relationship we were building with Mya, and was very flexible. His instruction was clear, easy to understand, and made perfect sense. He provided feedback in the moment and modelled how to improve. We can not express how much training with Dave has helped us be better leaders for Mya. Bottomline....Dave is awesome!
