Thank you so much for sharing Buddy’s story and for giving him the incredible life he always deserved. When Buddy first came to us through the rescue, there was a lot of uncertainty from others about what his future might look like because of everything he had experienced in his previous homes. Emily immediately stepped in and advocated for him because she saw what so many others had missed — a smart, sensitive dog who deserved patience, understanding, and a real opportunity to succeed. By the time Buddy came to training, the effects of everything he had gone through previously were still very present in the way he responded to stress and handling situations. Instead of labeling him, Emily took the time to truly understand him, build trust, and help him gain confidence through structure, consistency, and clear communication. Watching him slowly open up and start feeling safe enough to just be himself was incredibly special for all of us. What makes Buddy’s story even more meaningful is the family he ended up with. You gave him exactly what he needed — patience, compassion, consistency, and unconditional love. So many people may have overlooked him because of his past, but you chose to see the incredible dog underneath all of it and continue helping him grow.
