We understand how difficult it is to live with dogs who display aggressive or antisocial behaviors, especially when they’ve experienced trauma. We want to clarify what was done during training and why certain steps were taken.<br>First, with dogs who are aggressive, there is only so much progress a trainer can make without the owner’s consistent follow-through at home. While our trainers did see progress during sessions, we cannot control what happens outside of training hours, nor can we confirm whether the recommended homework was consistently carried out.<br>Medication was recommended as a tool to help reduce anxiety and aggression and make training more effective. We referred you to a veterinarian for evaluation, but ultimately we have no control over which medications a vet prescribes or how they affect an individual dog.<br>Regarding trainer assignment, your dog was kept with the trainer he responded to best. Rapport matters greatly with aggressive cases, and bringing in multiple trainers would have set back his progress. The trainer who worked with him is experienced and used methods appropriate for his level of tolerance.<br>Aggressive and fearful dogs rarely make fast or dramatic progress, especially within a set timeline. Sessions may sometimes look simple—like muzzle conditioning or counter-conditioning with food—but these are necessary foundation steps before higher-level obedience can be successful.<br>We recognize you are unhappy with the outcome, but it is not accurate to suggest that no training was done. Our trainers invested in your dogs’ progress and followed both safe handling protocols and professional standards of care.
