Without Ettel, I would be a stressed-out, worse dog owner. We brought an ENERGETIC, 9-weeks old whippet to our one-bedroom apartment in NYC. I grew up getting adult dogs from a shelter who could play in a backyard. My fiance never had a dog growing up but was bit by two dogs. We quickly realized that we needed help. Ettel has been integral in our understanding of our dog, in our skill development with commands and behavioral training, and in our mindset with the firsts of puppyhood and the torments of teenagedom. Through it all, she has been so easy to talk to. Ettel has a lot of knowledge and expertise, knowing how to translate that information for clients so it’s clear and usable. In addition to all that, something I’ve been especially grateful for is Ettel’s ability to keep the energy positive without being dismissive. Raising a dog from 9-weeks old has been hard for me and it’s easy to feel stressed and resentful. She acknowledges the hard parts of dog ownership without blame and she works give you usable information to make it all less stressful and more fun.

I adopted a very dog-reactive dog ('intense' was the word all her previous trainers used). She would get so stressed out about other dogs that she made herself sick all the time. Ettel was the first trainer that gave me realistic goals and training exercises that has completely changed my pup's overall quality of life (and mine too!). Beans will just never be the kind of dog that can go to a dog park or have strange dogs come up to her, but we can both now confidently walk down the street and simply redirect her attention and keep going on our walk (whereas before Beans would have a full blown panic attack that would leave her screaming and lunging for blocks and blocks). Ettel doesn't make false promises, she's very grounded and uses only positive training methods (which is what my freaked out dog needed). I've recommended Poodles to Pitbulls to every single person I know, and will happily continue to do so. What my dog was like before Ettel and what she is like now feels like almost two different dogs entirely, and I will forever be grateful to everything Ettel did to help build up my relationship with my pup!

I can’t say enough good things about Kayla! My dog (Brian) is a 4 pound chihuahua and can be very aggressive if someone doesn’t understand him. Kayla was able to slowly build trust with Brian overtime and became one of his best friends - -to the point where I became very jealous witnessing his excitement to see Kayla during drop off at her house. A good problem to have! Most importantly, I trusted Kayla to care of Brian.  She was very knowledgeable in taking care of teacup dogs and also was able to administer his medications twice daily for him.  I was able to leave on vacation without any worries knowing Brian was safe and very happy! Brian and I were very thankful to have Kayla!

I co-foster a very sweet but leash-reactive dog, and there was a weekend when both sets of fosters were going to be out of town. I reached out to shelter volunteers, and they recommended Kayla. We met in advance, and from the jump, our foster felt right at home with her (pulling toys out of her bin, flinging them around her apartment while we laughed about how cute he was). I can't emphasize enough how relieved we were knowing he was in her caring hands. I've had to drop off fosters temporarily during a trip and it was so painful - I was glued to my phone worried about them. I was considering cancelling until we met Kayla. Within minutes of dropping him off, Kayla was sending us photos of him with toys and cuddling her. He knew he was in a good place. And it meant the world to us to know he was with someone safe and understanding. In short: message Kayla. She'll love and care about your dogs like they're her own, even and especially if they have reactive tendencies (because she's parented her own reactive dogs)
